Abortion Doctor George Tiller Killed at Church
Regardless where you stand on this issue, this must be condemned and the murderer brought to justice. I suspect the Pro-life movement will be in the forefront of groups condemning this act. This killer is no different than William Ayers, except this monster WILL be caught and convicted of murder and will never have the chance to host a fundraiser for a future President of the United States.

Washingtom Post's Kathleen Parker: Genghis Khan, Tamerlane, Mao Tse-Tung were all White Men
Yep, I knew it all along and Kathleen Parker backs me up....
What can I say, I bet the same goes for Shaka, the Zulu King....
What she said (Sotomayer: ed.): "I would hope that a wise Latina
woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a
better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." Sotomayor may
be misguided, but she isn't necessarily a sexist-racist. I say this as a mother
of white males (perfect in every way) and author of "Save the Males."
Notwithstanding the preceding, I see her point.
Could a white man get away with saying something comparable about
a Latina? Of course not. After Latinas have run the world for 2,000 years, they
won't be able to say it ever again either.
What can I say, I bet the same goes for Shaka, the Zulu King....

Giving Felons the Vote
A must read about Sonia Sotomayor from the Washington Times. Inmates running the asylum. I wonder how many of those felons will support politicians that want to get tough on violent crime? Sad thing is, I can guarantee you BOTH of our Senators from Florida will vote to confirm her.

Second, we will focus the restriction on oral communications to target the scenario where concerns about merit-based decision-making are greatest –after competitive grant applications are submitted and before awards are made. Once such applications are on file, the competition should be strictly on the merits. To that end, comments (unless initiated by an agency official) must be in writing and will be posted on the Internet for every American to see.
This is the beginning of the justification of " Speech Crime". Orwellian talk coming from the White House. What's next, "Thought Crime"?
"First, we will expand the restriction on oral communications to cover all persons, not just federally registered lobbyists. For the first time, we will reach contacts not only by registered lobbyists but also by unregistered ones, as well as anyone else exerting influence on the process. We concluded this was necessary under the unique circumstances of the stimulus program.

Butt-kisser to police: I thought she was my 'baby momma'
Another one for all my fellow "Cops" fans....
On National Healthcare - A Personal Story
It was March 21st 1995 and I was hard charging Naval Intelligence Officer (LCDR) and was stationed at Navy HQ in downtown London. I had a wife who was two months pregnant and confined to her bed in order to carry our future Son to term (She did it for me and I will always love her for that). I was in the Gym at the bottom of the London Embassy finishing up what was an unusually difficult lunch time exercise session. I had been feeling out of sorts for the past week or so when I exercised, so I thought I was getting the flu or something.
I finished my rowing machine workout and decided to have a sauna. I went in, threw water on the hot stones and WHAM, it felt like an elephant had stepped on my chest. I thought I had scalded my lungs with steam. Somehow, I got out of there and went and took a long cold shower. The shower stalls in the embassy were massive, so I soon found myself curled up in the bottom and letting the cold water run over me. After a while (I lost track of time), I got up, put back on my clothes and walked back across the square to the Navy building and got back to work. My Wife's birthday was the next day, so I took off a little early and went to Selfridges and bought her a Royal Doultan dinner set for eight, lugged it on the train and headed home in time to do the laundry and fix a meal.
Two days later, as I ran up the stairs to attend a staff meeting, the elephant returned. Everyone at the meeting said I looked like crap and I just said it was indigestion (I had GURD and took Zantac). My Boss, bless him, ordered me to go get checked out at the Navy Medical Clinic that was a 30 minute train ride from HQ. (I resisted the idea... I was a workaholic in those days) So I gave my folks rudder orders as to what needed to get done for the day and told them I would be back to check up the progress. The elephant by then had disappeared and I thought my trip was a waste of time.
I got to the Navy clinic and they decided to do an EKG on me, just a precaution. (I luckily had one done during a checkup three months earlier). Next thing I know they are strapping a oxygen mask on me and putting an IV in my arm. I ask "what the hell?" and the Doc says, "we aren't sure, but we are sending you to the local hospital for tests. You may have had a heart attack...." My descent into the British National Healthcare system had begun.
I was sent by ambulance to the local emergency room, where for a couple of hours I lay on a gurney in the hall after they took some blood. After a while, the doctor comes to me and says "The blood work came back and you had a heart attack three days ago. What you had today was an angina attack. You are lucky. You are young, only 37, so you get to go to the head of the line." Those words chilled me. My first thought was for my wife, my second thought was I was too young and had to get back to work and my third thought was I feel sorry those old bastards in their 60's that have to go to the back of the line.
Head of the line meant I went to the local hospital general ward and waited for an opening at the heart center (or "centre" if you live in Britain) at Harefield Hospital in London. For three weeks I lived on the ward. The nurses, bless them, worked hard, but the overall condition of the ward was old and dingy and trying to sleep there was next to impossible with the traffic and noises of the old and decrepit. (And before you comment on my lack of noise tolerance, you are talking to a man who for three years slept like a baby just under the deck from the #1 and 2 catapults on the USS Eisenhower)
During my first week, there was an old man dying of lung disease next to me and everyday this shabbily dressed man (who I assumed was related to him) would come in and sit next to him. Near the end of the week, the dying man's visitor was talking to him, telling him the end was near and to start praying, etc. I could tell the old gent in the bed was getting agitated and I called a nurse and whispered to her that she might want to intervene and tell his relative to back off. The nurse looked at the guy and said, "Oh, that's old Bob... he's homeless and we let him come in here and keep some of the folks without friends company." The old man died the next day and the weeks slowly passed until finally I was admitted to Harefield Hospital, which I must admit, was a step up in quality.
After a week there I was finally treated with a balloon angioplasty, and it went horribly awry. They accidentally "tore" a vessel. But, they decided to send me home and see how I did. How I did was after a week I had another angina attack and I was readmitted to Harefield. By then, My father had arrived in England. My Dad was a radiation oncologist and had a private practice in rural North Carolina. He was with me during this time at Harefield. At this point, the Navy stepped in and was ordering me to Naval Hospital Bethesda. It was my impression the cardiologist at Harefield didn't appreciate this, but my Dad, whom I trusted, said to me "Son, do as the Navy tells you" (I didn't want to leave my pregnant wife). I was flown the next day to Bethesda and two days and three stents later I was in the Officer's Quarters watching the OJ trial and was starting a highly structured cardio rehab program, complete with cardiac monitoring and nurse supervision.
My Dad later told me he was appalled at the state of the hospital at Harefield (which is the premier heart hospital in England). He said he saw equipment and tools being used that he hadn't seen since he practiced in the 50's. He swore his radiation department, which already had a MRI and CAT scan (and was located in a county of 60,000) , was better equipped than Harefield's X-ray department.
Long story short, I was medically retired soon afterwards. I have opted for the private health care system for my post Naval career and have never waited a day for treatment for my cardiac issues. When I started having shortness of breath five years ago, I called my doctor and BOOM, next day I had some more stents. Late last October, I had another warning sign and the next day they did a cardiac catheterization and my cardiologist (who is a saint) said it's time for that bypass we always knew was coming. I met my surgeon the next day and few days later I had a quad bypass. I went in on a Thursday and was home the following Tuesday. After six weeks, I started a three times a week cardio rehab program that included heart monitoring and personal supervision by an outstanding nurse.
I buried my father last October. I was proud to give his eulogy to a packed room. I didn't know that in month I would have bypass surgery, but I made it a point to say that men like my father made the American health care system the envy of the world. We mess with it at our peril.
As the Obama administration starts its push for nationalised healthcare, I know what will be in store for me in the future if Obama wins. When that next event happens and the Doctor tells me I've had another heart attack or something akin to it in severity, I know I won't hear the words "You're lucky, you are young, you get to go to the head of the line". I'll probably be too old and will be shuffled off to the end of the line.
I finished my rowing machine workout and decided to have a sauna. I went in, threw water on the hot stones and WHAM, it felt like an elephant had stepped on my chest. I thought I had scalded my lungs with steam. Somehow, I got out of there and went and took a long cold shower. North Korea and the Bomb
With the news that North Korea successfully detonated a nuclear device, followed up by multiple missile launches, I started reading the various editorials and one stuck out like a sore thumb. In what is one of the most inexcusable editorials I have ever seen, the Washington Post ran this little gem of thought. Its tone of elite nonchalance unnerved me and reminded me of what happens when good men ignore evil by bargaining with it.
Something Like this...
While time has dimmed the memory of this event, listen to the cheers for Neville Chamberlain when he announces his pact with Hitler. Appeasement (yes, they used that exact word to describe their own policy) was the foreign policy of the day. And while we sit back with 20/20 hindsight and chuckle to ourselves "Boy, what a sap he was" because we know what is going to happen, take a minute and reflect on what ACTUALLY happened...
Let this give you a taste of the evil that was about to be unleashed...
The Jews were just one set of victims, their 6 MILLION dead made up less than 10% of the total dead from this world holocaust. And all because good men failed to realize the evil in their midst, or worse, struck Faustian bargains with it.
An article by Gordon Chang in Forbes helps identify (in addition to the truly EVIL regime in North Korea) who is culpable for the North Korean Bomb, China.
But where I diverge from him is his view of American strength in this drama. The government in China is not a democracy, so its main concern is preventing regime change. If given the choice of between losing face and making North Korea stand down (which could encourage reformed minded Chinese to push for a possible regime change) or wrecking both China's and the USA's economy for the sake of maintaining power (which is what would happen: If we cease importing their goods, and they can destroy our economy by destroying the dollar ...they hold almost 25% of our debt)... Mutually Assured Financial Destruction) - The Chinese will opt for economic destruction. The will of the people doesn't matter there (remember Tienanmen Square?) As Mao said "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." The Communist Lords in Beijing have a monopoly on guns there. In the USA, the ruling elites are afraid of making hard choices that require real sacrifice. That means China, for now, has the upper hand.
Hopefully, it won't come this worst case scenario because as long as China can exercise some control over North Korea, they will be content to let them play the neighborhood bully and divert US resources and efforts. What should concern us is that the Japanese, in a perfectly understandable move, goes nuclear for its own defense. After all, would you totally trust Obama to wage war for the safety of your nation and its children? Hell, half of America doesn't trust Obama so why should a nation literally on the other side of the world? A nuclear armed Japan is China's worst nightmare and now what you will then have is a powder keg that could make the Middle East look like small fries.
And why did this happen? Because we, the United States, were afraid to play hardball before North Korea went nuke. We have known for over 20 years they were working on it and lets face it, a nuclear weapon is 1940's technology, so it shouldn't surprise us they eventually got it. A truly insane, evil regime has its hands on the bomb because good men stood by and did nothing.
There is still a small window of opportunity to stop Iran, another regime that is based on an extremist, ugly philosophy. It would only take one or two bombs to destroy a large portion Israel. Will we stand idly by and let it happen? Will we prevent Israel from a preemptive strike? I think we know the answer to this with Barack Obama in charge. Don't say you weren't warned....

N. Korea Conducts Powerful Nuclear Test, Reportedly Fires Short-Range Missiles
Well, well, well... Lets See how the Obama administration reacts. If all we get is another "toothless" condemnation from the UN, then it's a green light for Iran to finish their Bomb. Then the question to ask Obama at his next news availability is "Since the UN and US sponsored negotiations and sanctions have proved impotent with regards to North Korea, and since Iran has repeatedly indicated is will unilaterally destroy Israel once it has the means, will the US sanction and assist Israeli preemptive actions to take out Iran's nuclear program, or must another Jewish Holocaust tale place before your administration considers military action?"
As for Japan, we have always known that they are, what we called in the military, a "Turn Key" nuclear power. I say, for their own preservation, they become an actual nuclear power (that will teach the Chinese a lesson for not being tougher on North Korea). Expect the same type of response form the Arab Powers once Iran gets the bomb.

Here's one for all my fellow "Cops" fans....
Gingrich: Powell Still Welcome in GOP
I don't welcome him. Gingrich is wrong. Republicans should be more concerned about making a better tent rather than a bigger one. Once you got quality, people will flock to it. The Japanese proved that with cars in the US market in the 70's (remember the crap cars the Big US automakers made then?) Same goes for political parties. Make a party people can trust and believe in and they will come to you. Core beliefs matter.

Climate Experts Who Signed The Manhattan Declaration
Click the title to see how many REAL scientists view with disdain the Global Warming fear mongering. Here is their website. Remember: Al Gore refuses to debate experts... He only testifies. Al's problem is this... as it becomes more evident that all the science behind man-made global warming is revealed to be based on false data and lousy scientific methodology and climate models, then his Nobel Prize becomes worthless. He will become the "Walter Duranty" of Nobel Prize winners. Wonder if he will return it?

Think this Will Help our Economic Recovery?
Saudis want oil to hit at least $75; Obama gets in the way of drilling in the USA, so that means more of our money going to fund reactionary Muslim States. Top this with the Charlie Crist supported incoherent Trillion Dollar Stimulus Package that was mostly pork, light on infrastructure and lack of planning for true energy independence and you have the increasing possibility of a double dip recession/depression. It's gonna be the 70's on steroids.

Something to cheer up the Conservative Base
I know things are bleak nationally for us Conservatives and small government Republicans, so I am posting this to remind you that people have faced worse perils. Imagine, it's mid June, 1940. Your major Ally has collapsed in the face of a historic onslaught by the most advanced and aggressive military force in the history of the planet. You are alone, a small island facing a power of epic proportions. You literally have an Army with no weapons and an Air Force, while modern, nowhere near the size of the enemy's. You are, in effect, a sitting duck and you know it. So what do you do? You step up and deliver this masterpiece of defiance against all odds. By God, he had me believing in their position after hearing this and I know from history (and by the speaker's own admission later in the war) that Great Britain was ripe for the taking. But his People believed him and perhaps so did one very important, yet evil, German. The rest is history. The lesson in this: Never, ever surrender.

MARCO RUBIO FOR US SENATOR
I just donated to the Marco Rubio Campaign for United States Senator from Florida. He is one of the future faces of the New GOP. It's time we renewed our brand and Marco Rubio, like Bobby Jindal and Sarah Palin, is where the future of the GOP lies. It's time for the GOP Old Guard to step back and let new ideas and people take the forefront in Washington. Why am I not supporting Charlie Crist? Simple: Anyone who supported the Obama's massive stimulus (aka "porkulus") bill is not for limited government and more importantly, has demonstrated an appalling lack of macro-economic insight with regards to what's best for our economy and our country. Time to Drill for Oil- Emerald Coast Style
The people of Northwest Florida deserve more than to be dependant on largesse of the Military or the boom-bust cycle of tourism. Here is an area where a) Good high paying jobs for people can be made and b) Help restore the USA to true energy independence. Technology has come a long way since the Seventies and it is time for ALL states that can contribute to cutting our ties to foreign oil make a commitment to walk-the-talk. Our beaches will be just fine and as for the arguement that oil rigs will ruin the Eglin Range, let me tell ya, the Persian Gulf is FULL of them. I know, I've been there. Consider it "Real World" training. Time for all of our politicians in Florida to get their heads out of the sand and get real. And yes, that means you Congressman Miller. How do you reconcile your stance of no drilling offshore in our neck of the woods and this?
