ACORN: A Political Cancer Has Been Set Loose Upon Us

The Body Politic of the United States of America during its 233 year existence has often been infected with corruption and usually because of the existence of thug political machines. One could argue that one of the first acts of political thugery occurred when Aaron Burr shot and killed Alexander Hamilton. (Burr was the one of the originators of machine party politics In New York). Since then we have had such luminary examples such as New York's Tammany Hall, The Kansas City Pendergast machine and most recently, the infamous Cook County Democratic machine in Chicago, which still operates today. If you feel any need to research into Cook County Politics, I suggest you start with our President, Barack Obama, who is its most distinguished graduate and practitioner of the fine art of Urban Machine/Thug politics.

Right now, one of the most egregious examples of corrupt political organizations is finally getting some notice in the Main Stream Media. The "Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now" (aka "ACORN") was founded in 1970 and provided Obama his early political training. Make no mistake, Obama is a creature of ACORN. He can deny ACORN no more than he can deny his mother and father. Obama owes his political career to this corrupt organization. Anyone with a Internet connection in the past 14 years could have done research on ACORN and come away with the correct conclusion that ACORN is and remains a plague on the American political landscape and it is fully entwined and part of the corrupt Chicago political system as well as in other cities across the land.

ACORN is Cook county is Obama is corruption is William Ayers is Mayor Daley is voter registration fraud is politics at its most toxic.

ACORN is under investigation in multiple states for voter fraud, including Minnesota where their involvement probably directly led to the election of Al Franken as Senator. Think about that people. This corrupt, dishonest organization is the main reason Al Franken got elected Senator vice Norm Coleman. This is political corruption at its most dangerous.

Bottom Line: Anyone who is even remotely tuned into the political world is aware that ACORN was and remains a corrupt organization that, for the most part, has been embraced by the most corrupt and entrenched Democrats on the national scene. Only when confronted with a video tape where ACORN workers help plot the smuggling in of teenage girls for prostitution, did the Democrats begin to abandon ACORN.

However, the fact remains that everyone, be they Democrat or Republican, have known for years that ACORN was a taxpayer funded criminal enterprise. For any politician to claim he was not aware of this fact is either :
a) Stupid beyond belief and unfit to hold office.
or
b) Lying and unfit to hold office

Which brings me to our Governor in Florida, Charlie Crist. Charlie Crist has a proven track record of working with and supporting ACORN, from working with them to help cause the Subprime mortgage fiasco, to the support of restoring rights to convicted Felons. Charlie Crist is not a a) "Stupid Beyond Belief and unfit to hold office." So that leaves us choice "b" unless Gov. Crist can convince the public otherwise.

My fellow citizens of Florida. In order to restore confidence in our system of state government, there needs to be a full and fair investigation in all ACORN activities in Florida. That also means looking into all its various guises, such as "Americans Coming Together" (ACT) Party and the "Service Employees International Union " (SEIU).

This will require the appointment of an independent counsel that has absolute autonomy from the executive and legislative branches of the State government. While Governor Crist should be the first order of business for the counsel (I presume the Governor would be eager to clear his name and be willing to have any statements he makes under oath open to the public and press for scrutiny), the independent counsel must look into the voter registration fraud that has happened , as well as any financial fraud, or absconding with funds that might have occurred. No one party should be immune from scrutiny, as well as no one person. Above all, Florida needs to know why its Governor thought that ACORN was a fit organization to do business with and how many voter registration lists have been tainted by this organization.

I also urge every state that has a history of ACORN operating inside their borders take this same action in order to root out this fetid, corrupt organization from our political system. I also urge the U.S. Congress to demand an independent Counsel at the Federal level to investigate ACORN. Any Congressman or Senator that fails to call for this should be voted out of office at the earliest opportunity.

Corruption and Politics are old friends. Corruption is allowed to flourish and rob honest citizens only when we, the people, allow it to happen. We have a deadly cancer growing at the highest levels of my State (FL) and at the Federal Government. If ACORN operates in your state, you have the same problem too. Swift and sure surgery to cut out this cancer is the only option that can save us. Call your state and federal representatives and demand ACTION NOW on ACORN. Do it before it is too late.

By The Way, the great "Porkulus Bill" of 2009 made ACORN eligible for BILLIONS of dollars. Think about that...

If he can't stand up for his Home team as Governor in fear of losing Yankee campaign funds, what makes you think he will stand up for Florida when he gets in the Senate?

1) I'm afraid that the Nuclear genie is going to get set loose in Iran, regardless of who is in power in Iran. A change in government might provide a more serious and responsible shift in the way Iran conducts its foreign policy, but the program WILL continue. The Iranian state has too much invested in the project and it WILL make Iran one the key powers in the world. When we Americans think of American "exceptionalism" (Which I believe in), in a similar vein Iranians think of their past when as Persia, they were one of the world's premier civilizations and that they have a right and duty to once again occupy that equivalent position in the modern world

2) Obama, despite his overheated 2008 campaign rhetoric when talking about winning the war in Afghanistan, hasn't the will to follow through in that theater. What's makes anyone in their right mind think that he will do anything militarily with regards to Iran? And as far as sanctions go, it won't happen..Russia will balk at them as long as the current regime is in power and China will always balk at them because it would cause Oil to skyrocket in price and endanger their very export driven economy.

3) Israel might have the will to act militarily, but they don't have the conventional resources for the prolonged extended campaign to do it. It will come down to a "MAD" policy with the rest of the middle east. Israel's only real option will be to announce they too have nukes and will target all the Middle East if attacked by Iran... That way everyone in the region will have "skin" in the game and put pressure on Iran to behave once they get nukes.

4) Best case scenario: Iran has regime change before it gets Nukes and they and Israel join the Nuke Power club as a responsible members. Unfortunately, it will also drive other powers in the area to launch their own Nuke programs.

5) Worst case Scenario: Iran gets Nukes with the current regime still in power and then as internal dissatisfaction grows in Iran and threatens Ahmadinejad's hold, Iran lashes out against Israel to create a crisis as an excuse to stamp out internal reform.

6) Either way: Congrats Obama: It happened on your Watch.... /s off

ACORN, The Culture of Corruption and the Bad Judgment of Charlie Crist

Fact: ACORN is under investigation in multiple states for voter fraud.

This is a dangerous organization that corrupts the political fiber of our nation. Think of it as "Tammany Hall" on government infused money steroids. All States, I repeat ALL STATES, must have an independent investigation as to the activities of this obviously corrupt organization and if any politician has had links, no matter how minor, with ACORN, they should recuse themselves from any investigation.

This means Charlie Crist MUST RECUSE himself in any investigation because he has apparently had dealings with this organization.

I'm consider myself as a fairly well informed person when it comes to things political. Before I started my own Blog, I regularly read political blogs and news sites; kept up with the national news on Cable News and enjoyed talk radio when I had the chance (unfortunately, most of it occurs during the work day and I work in a secure area with no radios). I am, for lack of better words, A News Junkie. You know How some guys take the day off after the Super Bowl, just to recover from the hangover, I've been known to take the day off after a presidential election (2000 being the Prime example)

I've been aware of ACORN for years. I knew it was primarily an left wing Urban activist group that often, if not always skirted the law when it came to it use of funds and tactics. I knew Barack Obama had his start with ACORN even before he started running for President. I knew of its ties to the radical left of the sixties, just as I knew of who and what William Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn were when I was growing up in the seventies.

I am not a Professional Politician like Charlie Crist. But I know if were ever approached to work with any of these people, they would get a polite, but emphatic "Go to hell"...

Charlie Crist apparently did not.

I now quote from an Email from the Marco Rubio Campaign. Here is an excerpt of a letter Speaker Rubio sent to Governor Crist:

The St. Petersburg Times also reported yesterday that your office may have partnered with ACORN in the past on several initiatives, including your 2007 effort to restore voting rights to convicted felons in Florida. If you partnered with ACORN, I have no reason to doubt you did so unaware of ACORN's propensity for questionable activity, and with what you believed at the time to be the best interests of Floridians at heart. However, given the recent revelations about ACORN, I believe it is now in the best interest of all Floridians for your office to provide a thorough accounting of its relationship with ACORN and what, if any, influence ACORN may have had in any actions you have taken on behalf of the people of Florida.Lastly, during last year's presidential election, despite what now seems to be a prescient chorus of concerned parties asking for an investigation into ACORN's election-related activities, you insisted that you were unconcerned with ACORN's activities.

In light of the recent allegations against ACORN, I suggest you reconsider your position, demand a full investigation of ACORN's election-related activities, and take whatever steps available to you to prevent ACORN from engaging in voter registration and other election-related activities until the questions surrounding this organization are resolved.

I hereby call for all my like-minded Citizens of Florida, regardless of Party affiliation, to insist on an independent review of any and all state of Florida Interaction with what is increasing looking like a taxpayer funded criminal enterprise. This means appointment of a prosecutor independent of the Governor's office since he has now been linked to the organization.

All are innocent until proven Guilty, but the investigation MUST be done for the sake of honest government.

And Charlie Crist MUST answer for his apparent poor judgement in his active and intimate dealings with ACORN.

From all accounts, ACORN was a criminally run enterprise and from what I gather is under investigation in at least 14 states.

The Press, newspaper, TV and New Media must insist on the right to directly take on Charlie Crist with regards to this matter. If what is written about his association with them is true.. Then Charlie Crist lacks the judgement to be dog catcher, much less Governor or Senator.

From what I can gather after coming home from work and reading the updated thread (many Thanks Mr. Ledeen) is that it appears that much more "violent" response from the regime occurred outside Metro Tehran.

What really upsets me is the lack of attention the U.S. Media is giving to the situation. Our MSM Press has gotten lazy: If you cannot broadcast it Live and in HD, it is not worth more than a mention on the evening news. And this is about a country that could very well strike up the next nuclear war/Arms race.

Obama picked a real lousy time to cave into Russia and for the effort he got squat from Putin. Reagan, on the other hand, walked away from Gorbachev and the result was the collapse of the Soviet bloc. At a time Iran AND Israel both need a strong, resolute United States, we have a rank amateurs running the foreign policy of the U.S. (Please, no one can argue Hillary knows what she is doing... she got her clock cleaned by Obama and some how this makes her "qualified" to run Foggy Bottom?)

While the "New media" keeps people like me informed of events going on, the VAST bulk of America STILL gets their news from the 23 Minutes on the Big Three Networks and/or their local rag who merely edits AP/Reuters feed for their third page news on foreign affairs.

The sad fact is that (for example here in Florida) more people are concerned about how the Gators play tomorrow than the fight for freedom that is going on in Iran, which, if it goes truly south and we have a full blown Fascist State with Nuke weapons, it will have devastating consequences on this country, indeed the entire world.

And I blame our a) Administration b) Congress and C) the PRESS for their lack of perspective or urgency in this matter.

George LeMieux, Charlie Crist and the World's Record for Self Inflicted Political Castration

George LeMieux, before even being sworn in, effectively neutered himself and demonstrated for all the Republican political world that he is, for all intents and purposes, a potted plant meant to keep the chair warm for his political master, Charlie Crist. (hat tip to RedState and Eric for the news report)

Eunuchs have a long and storied place in political intrigue. Eunuchs (not to be confused with the medieval castrato, who were young boys who were involuntarily chosen and castrated to preserve their pre-pubescent soprano voice) were , more often than not, fully grown men who elected to have this procedure performed on them in order to join the inner circle of the Emperors' staff. The reasoning being was that they were incapable of having children and therefore would pose no dynastic threat to the emperor. They also made useful guards of the harem, but in LeMieux's defense, this is not an duty he will need to perform for Charlie Crist.

Ol'George performed his own "political castration" right in front of the press before he was sworn in. When asked a question about Rep. Wilson's "You Lie!" moment during Obama's healthcare speech before Congress, Ol'George stated that Rep. Wilson should be "Censured". Now I must admit, yelling "You Lie" at a sitting president addressing Congress does not rank high on sophistry scale, but there is precedence for such bad behavior in Congress during joint session spectacles and one need only look back as far as 2005 when Bush addressed congress. And I admit, I was on my rowing machine listening to the speech (might as well take advantage of the raised heart rate I always get when I listen to Obama) and at the same time Joe Wilson uttered his immortal line "You Lie", I was yelling "Bullshit" (for the record I was born in South Carolina and raised in North Carolina)

Fast forward to LeMieux's later press conference and by now Joe Wilson has, a) Apologized to the President and b) despite the MSM's attempt to paint him as some bug eyed wacko, has become a darling of the Republican base and c) Was in the process of becoming one of the great hero's of 9-12 Tea Party, one of the largest, if not the largest mass protest in DC in the past twenty years. And What does George LeMieux do?? He spouts the Democratic line that Wilson needs to be censured.

But the man isn't finished performing his figurative public self mutilation...oh no... he goes on to try to play both sides of the health debate, try to placate both the Obama and the mushy middle by giving some lukewarm spittle about saying Obama has some good ideas we can coalesce around, etc. In other word, he has signaled to Obama that he can have his vote if Obama plays him right. Congratulations Florida, you just got a milquetoast Olympia Snowe as your senator, courtesy of Charlie Crist.

LeMieux then bemoans the fact that Florida would get no revenue from the off-shore drilling bill currently in Congress. Well that's because Charlie Crist, Bill Nelson and a whole lot of Florida politicians, instead of leading the push for drilling, have been sitting on the sidelines or fighting the effort. D'oh? Why should you get jack if you haven't been a major player pushing for this needed American energy?

LeMieux then goes on to say that, for all intents and purposes, don't expect much because he is the most junior Senator there (#99; Dead Ted's replacement will be #100) . So What? A real man would treat this as an opportunity to excel, not meekly crawl into his office and wait for Charlie's call to tell him how to vote.

Folks, this demonstrates what is wrong with the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF). We have a GOP Governor who has embraced Obama's economic agenda, A Republican Party Chairman who acts in the best interests of embedded, slothful, good old boy's network of Republican candidates and a State party apparatus that is totally tone deaf to the resurgent angry base that they need to get elected. Elected Republicans in Florida have morphed into the Republican party that held the U.S. Congress from 2000 till 2006. They are more concerned about re-election than ideas, more concerned with pork barrel politics that real solutions. Result: A state that has 11% unemployment, a crashing real estate market and a Governor who is more concerned with raising cash for a Senate run than fixing the State he was elected to serve.

There is only one way to get the RPOF and the Republican Establishment to wake up and start listening to their Grassroots voters. That is to deny Charlie Crist the one thing he covets above all else, even above the welfare of the state he serves... the Republican nomination for U.S. Senator of Florida.

Charlie Crist in the Senate is the type of creature Obama needs. A Senator that he can count on to give him the fig leaf of bipartisanship for his radical agenda. If you like Olympia Snowe, Arlen Specter and a less macho version of Susan Collins, you're gonna love Charlie Crist.

But for the immediate future, here's what you need to do. Write/email/phone Senator George "Eunuch" LeMieux and tell him just to sit in his office, play minesweeper on his computer and when he is called upon to vote in committee or in the chamber, he is to vote the way Jim DeMint tells him to. No answering of the phones allowed; No floor speeches; No carving of his initials into his Senate floor desk. Above all, he is to stay away from Charlie Crist. And for ever Email/letter Phone call you make to Senator "99" LeMieux...courtesy copy to Charlie Crist.

Oh yeah, Donate Money to Marco Rubio...I've met the man and he is not the type to let being a "Junior Senator" stop him from making his voice heard and presence felt. The Man has Cojones.

I don't know about you, but I'm writing my congressman. He's a Republican, so he can complain, but until the Democrats (whose leadership is joined to the hip with Wall Street...It is "Blue State" remember.) are out of power, don't expect any action. Let's just hope the Republicans remember their "Flyover Roots" when they return to power. If they don't they will be the first major political party to go under since the Civil War.

An Honest Challenge to open Debate to CNBC from "The Ticker Guy"

Karl Denninger, a local guy from right here in Niceville, managed to peak the ire of the Dennis Kneale of CNBC. Mr. Kneale opened the fight by taking on economic bloggers that don't necessarily inhabit the denizens at the Streets of Wall and Broad in New York City. Mr. Denninger responded with facts and figures (Truth in advertising: I know Karl and he is that rare breed, a guy who brings passion and exuberance to that driest of subjects, economics) and Mr. Kneale responded with ridicule and openly stated that Karl's apparent flaw is that he tracks and massive amounts of data, including flow of imports and exports, debt and credit analysis, coupled with population stats, etc, etc...

In other words, Karl does his homework, comes to conclusions and publishes them and stands by them. And how is this bad? Am I missing something here?

Is Mr. Kneale implying that we shouldn't trust guys that do their homework? Is Mr. Kneale saying that he doesn't bother with research, but just goes with his "gut" when he makes economic calls? This seems analogous to saying one picks their surgeon on not how well he did in medical school and his proven track record at surgery, but on how well, oh I don't know.. lets say...your doctor plays golf. I thought pouring over reams of data and statistical analysis is what economists are supposed to do. And Mr. Kneale finds fault in that?

Also, Karl Denninger is beholden to no one. The same cannot be said of CNBC. The corporate hats at GE (aka CEO Jeffrey Immelt) who own CNBC and MSNBC are are totally in the tank with the Obama administration. Ever watched MSNBC? If there was ever an apparent alliance between a big media/corporate conglomeration and an administration which violates the public trust between the citizens of the a country and its supposed "Neutral Press", it's the cozy relationship between GECNBCMSNBC and Obama, Inc. Here is just a taste of the stink between these two organizations.

I'm sending an Email and link to this post to CNBC and to Fox Business Channel. I know CNBC won't put up, but maybe Fox will give Karl a shot to debate the issues.

Folks, the Internet and the PC has changed all the rules of economic analysis. It is no longer the private domain of the elite Northeast/Ivy League MBA crowd. (They are the ones that got us in this mess). For too long, the NYC financial scene has treated us flyover folks as fodder for their cash generation and Ponzi enrichment schemes. It is as rotten as Washington and we need to clean the whole mess out. Remember, all these suits at CNBC used to fawn over Bernie Madoff and they and the SEC couldn't catch that obvious fraud. (And remember...Bernie founded NASDAQ!)

An economic reckoning will eventually come, but the longer we put it off, the more painful it will be.

And just to keep you in the loop... There are going to be a lot more bank failures, there is going to be a commercial loan crisis in the near future and the FHA loan system is teetering on the brink and will probably come hat-in-hand to the Feds for money. Don't ask me, ask Karl. And he will point you to a plethora of informed, professional economists who also agree with him.

This economic malpractice on Wall Street has been brewing for a generation and both Democrats and Republicans are at fault here. However, the future of political power lies with the party that comes "clean" and begins to clean up this mess in an open, transparent fashion.

On Obama's speech to our children at School; The Hitler Youth; and Sean Connery in "Highlander"

President Obama wants to speak to my 13 year old son while he is in school. And he wants my son to take time out from Math, Earth Sciences, Computer Programming and weightlifting to do a bunch of busy work on writing down goals (Emmett already knows his goal- make an "A" in Algebra on his first report card and get his PS3 weekend rights restored)

However, Obama's PR stunt did encourage a father-son talk about parenting, rights and responsibilities. He ask why I was miffed about Obama's stunt and I told him that I thought it was all part of a PR Blitz that Obama wanted to make after his disastrous August Recess. I also told him that I was fair game for Obama. He could take to the airways at anytime and it was my choice to listen to him or not. On the other hand, I explained, he (Emmett) was a captive audience and was being tasked to do actual work after Obama's pep talk. I also let him know my feelings that he (Emmett) was my son and I felt he was being taken advantage of by Obama's obvious ploy. Our conversation then steered towards leaders in the past who encouraged Cult like worship by the youth of their country (Hitler and His Hitler Youth, Stalin and his Young Pioneers, Mao and his Cultural Revolution) and how some of the lefts Obama Worship reminded me of that.

I've talked with my son before about such subjects; I've made sure he knows the details about WWII, the Holocaust, the Cold War and have told him on countless occasions that he is so lucky to be an American. I've taught him never to pick on others, never to mock those different than him and warned him of the Drug plague that is running amok in our country. I respect my son, and while he doesn't have total free will (and won't while I'm paying the bills) I do encourage him to make decisions within guidelines that I outline. I asked him what he wanted and he said, "I'd like to listen to him but I would like to ask him about his spending and why I'm going to have to pay for it".

Which brings me to the Movie "Highlander". For those of you that don't know the movie, it was one of the great, all time Eighties movies. It had haggis, swordplay, Wrestling, ancient Scotland, modern New York, chopping of guys heads off, a chintzy soundtrack and, above all, Sean Connery.

It is a story about this guy (Connor Macleod) who was born in 16th Century Scotland and is immortal (and has a French accent- a French guy played him). He goes into battle and this monstrous bad guy named Kurgan (who sounds like a Yankee from Queens) runs him through the gut with a massive broadsword and is about to chop off our hero's head, when his family (the Clan Macleod) save him and take him home to apparently die. (They all know the gut wound is fatal) However, Conner recovers the next day and of course they assume he is a witch and he is banished from the village.

Macleod goes off to live in an apparently abandoned castle by the loch, meets a lovely milk maid and they make a home. Then one day, Sean Connery shows up dressed as a Spainard and informs Macleod that he (Connery) is really an ancient Egyptian (with a Scottish accent) and he is an immortal to. Sean explains that it is the duty of all immortals to chop off each other's head (it's the only way they can die) and the last one standing wins "the Prize" and that he is here to help train him so that the evil Kurgan stands less of a chance of winning, because, Kurgan is just, well, an a**hole (sorry for the French).

So Sean teaches all his sword tricks to Macleod and eventually Macleod becomes a master swordsman. Then he goes off to the village for...I don't know, village stuff and while he is gone, Kurgan shows up at the castle looking for Macleod. He finds Sean Connery instead and just before he chops off Sean's head (It was only a walk on part that Connery was doing for the money) Connery defiantly tells the evil Kurgan that he is too late, he has prepared Macleod for him. Rent the movie for the rest of the tale.

That's how I feel about my son. Obama is Kurgan, Emmett is Macleod and I, of course, am Sean Connery.

If they show the Obama's Speech at school, Emmett is free to do as he wants, it doesn't matter.

It's too late Obama, I've already prepared my son for you.
