Who You Calling "Congressional Elites"?

NY Times Quotes U.S. Senator Evan Bayh III, Son of three Term U.S. Senator Birch Bayh:
Senator Evan Bayh, Democrat of Indiana, said the atmosphere was a serious threat to Democrats. “I do think there’s a chance that Congressional elites mistook their mandate,” Mr. Bayh said. “I don’t think the American people last year voted for higher taxes, higher deficits and a more intrusive government. But there’s a perception that that is what they are getting.”
Senator Bayh: If you look up the term "Congressional elites", you will find a picture of yourself...so you know Congressional elites mistook their mandate.

And it isn't a perception the that we are getting "higher taxes, higher deficits and a more intrusive government".....It is a STONE COLD FACT WE ARE!

It is such condescending attitudes by Senator Bayh that is fueling the insurgent campaign of Scott Brown in, of all places, Massachusetts!

Note to Republicans: If Brown wins on Tuesday: don't get cocky. Part of Brown's strength is coming from independents who are the largest registered segment in Massachusetts (50%!) and those independents are fueled, in a great part, by the Tea Party movement and the issues they are upset over are financial: Taxes, Jobs and Healthcare. Social issues are not the driving force up there. For you Republicans who demand their candidates be "pure"...Scott Brown is a social libertarian.  There is a lesson here. In 2010, 2012 and probably for a few more election cycles, "It's The Economy Stupid!"

Note to Tea Parties: If you stay focused on the economy and taxes, you can become "King Makers".  If you stray outside those areas, you possibly forfeit your chances to make a difference in 2010 and 2012.

My Two Cents....

Muck,

To flip your note around. Note to GOP: If you stay focused on the economy, taxes, spending, transparency, and listen to the People, you will actually get the Independent vote. We aren't the ones who have gotten away from this over the last 6 years.
