Our esteemed daily rag, the NW Florida Daily News, does a little marketing trick every Sunday. It has on it's Web Site a teaser story to get folks to go out and buy the Sunday Paper.
Today's teaser was 'Sansom's salary at college 'caused a huge negative reaction'
If not for the obvious lead story of the massive earthquake in Chile, I'm pretty sure it would have been the headline.
My reaction? It's like stating "Man's Execution Results in His Death". It gave no new information and anyone, other than possibly Pat Rice, knew that Sansom's deal with Richburg smelled to high heavens and have known this for well over a year!
This front page story, I repeat, FRONT PAGE STORY ON THE SUNDAY PAPER, and pimped on the website is the equivalent of the "Teasers" car dealers do to get you in the show room. They offer a great price on a car, but there is probably only one on the lot and it's sold by the time you get there. It is sleazy business, and the NW Florida Daily News little teaser on Sansom's salary smacks not only of sleazy journalism but also of LAZY journalism.
Face it folks, We no longer have a paper of record in Okaloosa county. All we got is a paper written and printed in Panama City. Oh yeah, they are still bankrupt.
My Question is: If Ray Sansom and company are not tried or found "not guilty", will the NW Florida Daily News have more than one story about this and will it be writing about how they were found innocent a year after the story broke?
PS: For the Record: I get the paper on weekends cause the Wife is a hardcore coupon user, (A dying yet profitable art) so I have read the entire article....
