Bill McCollum: Taking the Bull by the Horns: "I Found Skimmers" on Day 68

Bill McCollum, in a desperate bid to appear "pro-active" on the Oil Spill, announced on Day 68 of this disaster he has "found some skimmers:"

Attorney General McCollum: You a) have direct access to Charlie Crist who in turn b) has direct access to Barack Obama.  The Netherlands, in the first few days offered State of the Art Skimmers for our use.  Yet You, Charlie Crist and Barack Obama did nothing.  On day 60 they finally accepted  the help.

Why hasn't the Jones act been waived? Bush did it immediately in the aftermath of Katrina. Think you can get Charlie to call Obama and see what he can do about that?

Finally, here is direct quote from you:

“I don’t get it. There’s some real disconnect. It’s either incompetence or somebody’s decided we don’t need them,” McCollum said in an interview. “Why should we leave a single American flag vessel available? Why aren’t we calling them? I don’t know for the life of me.” 

Err..."Don't get it?"  Is that what we want in a Governor?!!!  Hell, If I were you and I was running for Governor, I would have been on this issue ON DAY ONE, bellowing out to the Press, Coast Guard and above all to the Administration telling them "I get this..This is a major Oil spill and you guys are dragging your feet and I ain't gonna stop raising hell in the media till you change your ways."

If this is your idea of taking "the Bull by the Horns", I think you did a lousier job than this guy in the picture.
