Message to RNC: Don't Repeat the Mistakes of the RPOF

The RNC is suffering a case of self inflicted gunshot wound.  For our Senior Republican Leadership on the National level: Don't drag out this really stupid behavior like the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) did.  Our Florida GOP went through the Political Torture of The Damned for what seemed an eternity when confronted with alleged malfeasance.  What probably started off as a case of really bad judgment spiraled out of control and we are now faced with an actual case of possible criminal activity on the part of the man who was our most senior RPOF official.

Make no mistake, when the entrenched RPOF party elite balked at getting rid of Jim Greer, it was the local county parties that took the "Bull by the Horns" and clamored for action.  After many months and an actual party revolt, a new team was put in place, one that was committed to cleaning up the mess left by Jim Greer and company.  The criminal investigation linked to in this post is a direct result of honest Republicans in the RPOF doing their job.  It was an unwanted, but necessary cleaning of our State party.  Chairman Thrasher and Vice-Chairman Cox Roush deserve our thanks and our support.

The lesson learned: When it's obvious something is wrong, take immediate action and remember, it is usually not the crime but the cover-up where the most damage is done.

That is needed now at the RNC.  Chairman Steele has proved to be a disaster.  His performance in the past (his constant apologizing) and the gathering evidence that he is unable to properly manage the RNC points to the inescapable fact that he is in over his head and needs to go.  Do not let this state of affairs fester. This situation requires immediate action and that means the powers that be in the GOP take charge and a) replace Steele and all senior management in the RNC and b) conduct an immediate Forensic audit of RNC funds.  The results of the audit should be made to all State party chairmen and GOP members of Congress.

Chairman Steele should do the honorable thing and immediately resign.  If he does not, he should be fired. ASAP.  We Florida Republicans learned our lesson the hard way.  Learn from our mistakes here.  This situation requires swift, sure surgery to cut out the cancer that is in the RNC and true transparency in the audit of funds.  If possible crimes are uncovered in the audit, report it for investigation.  If the GOP acts now, you might avoid what happened in Florida.  Believe me, it was painful.

Time is short.  The time for action is NOW. We cannot let this situation interfere in the November election

Rubio vs. Crist on Fox News Sunday

First, truth in advertising. I have supported Marco Rubio since last year when he first declared his candidacy for the U.S. Senate. I have supported him with my keyboard and my checkbook. No doubt it colors how I viewed the debate today.

If I had to summarize the debate: Marco Rubio showed up today to talk about policy and ideas. Charlie Crist showed up to play hardball politics.

Our country is trembling on the cusp of economic chaos. The massive borrowing and printing of money has merely temporarily papered over our economic problems. Our recent bump in GDP is based solely on borrowed money and we have yet to see a true turnaround of the private sector. Marco Rubio talked about serious policy proposals. He took a gutsy (and necessary) stand on Social Security by saying the obvious. In order to save Social Security, major changes need to be made in retirement age and benefits. Charlie Crist opposes such changes. This is not the stance of a serious man. Rubio talked about free market reform of healthcare and serious tort reform. Charlie Crist pointed to his anemic "Cover Florida" program and looked foolish defending it.

Charlie Crist's main goal from the first was obvious to all. He played the politics of Bill Clinton, the politics of personal destruction. He flat out called Rubio a corrupt politician, based on a great part, how his (Crist's) handpicked man (Jim Greer) managed to totally bankrupt and abuse the RPOF budget. I think the word is "chutzpah". Also, you can tell who the desperate man in a debate is by the number of times he interrupts his opponent. When Crist was talking, Rubio took notes. When Rubio talked, Crist interrupted like an overeager schoolboy. Bad form and bad politics.

Worst of all, Crist defended his embrace on the Trillion dollar Obama Stimulus Plan of 2009. Charlie would have gotten a better reception from Republicans by promising to build an Aztec Temple in "The Villages", don a feathered headdress and perform human sacrifices every time the Florida Seminoles or Gators lost a football game. That is how bad embracing the stimulus is for ANY Republican that wants to get elected. Charlie believed the hype about Obama in 2009, did the hug and grabbed the money. This, in hindsight, was political suicide and will go down in U.S. History as one of the worst political decisions ever made. Right up there with "Read my Lips" and asking Monica Lewinsky to fetch pizza for the President.

Finally, there is a lesson here for the RPOF. Complete and make public to all County Party Chairman and State Committee men and women the Forensic audit that is being done on the RPOF budget and funds. The sooner we Florida Republicans put this issue to rest, the better it will be for ALL Republicans running for office. And I condemn Charlie Crist trying to use it to score political points. Remember, he was in charge of the RPOF when it happened.

Obama Goes to Afghanistan

Good for him... It is important for the troops to know their President is behind them.

While I have some issues with the tactics being used (I think they endanger American lives on the ground more), I FULLY SUPPORT THE MISSION.

One way to show the difference between Republicans and the Democrats is for Republicans to support our President in his role as Commander-in Chief.  He is trying to do the right thing.  Code Pink and the Daily Kos would disagree.

Pat Rice Inadvertently Demonstrates That He is Not Web Savvy and Dodges Direct Questions

Pat Rice said he knew nothing of the Ric Campo Attack Ad and asked for me for the link.  I sent it to him on his Blog and via Email.

Here is what I sent:
http://www.tnol.com/pageflipper/index.cfm?paperid=37&edition=11

Check out page three. It was embedded in the following Post:

http://www.bloggybayou.com/2010/03/nw-florida-daily-news-puts-out.html

Your paper uses Knology as its service provider at work?... I've seen the Hits from it on the above link this week and Site Meter say they belong to the News Herald in Panama City… So SOMEONE There got it… I also tweeted the link and you subscribe to my tweets…. Do I have to drive to Panama City and endure Drunk College kids to show you (Just kidding about enduring the Drunk College kids BTW…. I was one once…)

While my Rhetoric may appear overheated to you, It is not. I am serious about really wanting to see where you guys have editorially stood up and have condemned the issues I brought up about Obama. It is becoming apparent to more and more Americans that they were fooled by HIS Rhetoric (Including the Constitutionally protected press, who FAILED to properly investigate him, and merely "Swooned" over his TelePrompter read speeches)

What has driven the MSM and the Press into such low approval numbers is the Double standard that exists between Democrats and Non-Democrats.

I say Obama's recent, shabby treatment of Israel is a direct result of his attending A church for twenty years led by a raving Anti-Semite ....

What say you?
Cheers
ER White
(aka Bloggybayou)

And please, don't resort to false characterizations about overheated rhetoric when you are avoiding answering tough questions. I expect more from the Director for Regional Content.. My questions were specific, to the point and where I come from you either answer them or say "I do not know sir, I will find out"

I used to answer questions for a living …. retired Intelligence Officer… You were handed your head if you tried to bullshit the 4 star…. My "aggressive style" is a typical morning brief Q&A style.
Here is what Mr. Rice Emailed me back:
Mr. White,

I have now looked at both of the links below, and I STILL don't see anything related to a Ric Campo. So...on to other things.

Yes, I do think your rhetoric is overheated. You appear to be perpetually angry that the Republicans have lost both houses of Congress and the presidency, and it seems to me that you are in a constant hunt for someone to blame. I personally think you should turn your heat inward. I think the main reason Republicans lost so heavily in 2008 was that many Americans grew tired of a Republican Party that spent and spent and spent, just like the Democrats. I think the other reason is that enough Republicans acted so over the top that they frightened a lot of people into voting for Democrats. Why did Obama win? You have to take some of the blame yourself. If you toned down just a bit, I think you'd help the Republican cause a lot more.

That stated, I agree with you that many in the media appeared overly happy that Obama was elected. And I think you're right that conservative Republicans probably distrust many in the media as much or more than ever. I also agree with you that Obama turned out to be exactly what he said he would be: a big government Democrat. As someone who would prefer that government shrink, not grow, Obama's propensity for growing the federal budget disturbs me.

As for low approval numbers, I can't speak for everyone in the media. But judging by our ever-growing audience, I can tell you that a lot of people apparently approve of the Northwest Florida Daily News. In March, our Web site will surpass 6 million page views for the first time! Isn't that great? I think our balanced and fair approach to the news is one reason why the Republican candidates for the 4th District special election primary were so willing to take part in a Daily News-sponsored debate just recently. If you attended -- and more than 300 people did -- then you know it was an excellent opportunity for the public to learn about the candidates.

Have a good weekend.
Pat Rice
Here was my response:
Mr. Rice:

http://www.tnol.com/pageflipper/index.cfm?paperid=37&edition=11

Are you telling me, that you cannot read the THIRD page of the above link? Honestly? You got to turn the pages!! D'oh! Look at the Ad in the Bottom half of the page.. I cut and pasted it into the word document…Look at the BOTTOM Of the Ad and you will see "Paid advertisement by Ric Campo". (Blog readers: Download the Word document here)

As for politics, I started getting active after the election, not prior…. I AM for returning the party back to its the small government roots….Also, you use the old debating trick of answering a question with a question.. Will you address the issues I posed to you on the your blog..yes or no? You accused me of not paying attention to the RPOF Amex issue, I proved you wrong.

I am not angry, just Navy Trained persistent.

So either say you are going to answer MY questions or not. Keep the overheated opinion to yourself.

And I judge your paper not by its web presence but by its paper content and it is decreasing in size and content. (Also: Get rid of the mug shots for a month and see how many readers you lose…) Are you making money from your web site? Are you refunding money paid by sponsors who have their ads on pages you rarely if ever update? Can you prove it? If you tell me I don't have the right to look into Freedom Newspapers Financial Books, Then remember, You have NO RIGHT TO LOOK INTO RPOF FUNDs. They are funds given voluntarily and are STRICTLY party, NOT PUBLIC business.

Also, NOW THAT I HAVE SENT YOU A PERSONAL SNAPSHOT OF THE ATTACK AD…What are you going to do? You made a huge deal over the Fink poll…What, in all fairness are you going to do? Are you going to investigate this, as I expect a professional Newspaper to do, or are you going to sweep it under the rug or claim you can't get to the web site? EVERYONE in the Okaloosa Republican Party as well as many prominent Democrats knew about this ad… Your NOT KNOWING ABOUT IT does not speak well of your political acumen.

I know my posts were was viewed by someone at your paper (multiple times) , Knology is your provider, Right? Someone also from your paper viewed the above link at 0714 PM Saturday evening, 27 March… So, I guess that person FORGOT TO TURN THE PAGE…..

If you don't have the capability to view a WORD 2007 Document, let me know..I will tell your IT folks where to get a compatibility pack from Microsoft that will convert 2007 docs to 2003 format.

Thanks for following me on Twitter!

For too long no one has had the ability to hold the media accountable for their bias and laziness…those days are over…

Looking forward to your response….

I guess the old saying is true: "You can lead a Horse to water, but you can't make him drink.." Or in this case, think....

MSM says "Gimme a Break...."

Our local Deadwood paper is at it again... complaining (and rightfully so) about the over heated rhetoric directed at Obama..

Here is My response:
It staggers the mind that ANYONE would compare ANY American President's character with that of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc and expect to be taken seriously in civil political debate...

That said, where was the outrage from the press when the left were doing exactly that to Bush? "Code Pink" comes to mind...

There was no outrage, there was no condemnation of Cindy Sheehan when she spoke with "Absolute Moral Authority" and the NY Times, NBC/CBS/ABC stumbled over themselves to interview and photograph her.

Where was the MSM outrage over Obama being an active ally of Terrorist Bill Ayers?

Where is the MSM outrage over the administrations offering the a primary opponent of Arlen Specter a Whitehouse Job if he would drop out of the Primary?

Where is the outrage over Tony Rezko's financial involvement with the Obama's for their own personal gain?

How did Michelle Obama get a pay increase of $195,000 after Obama became Senator? Did it have anything to do with his getting a million Plus earmark to the Hospital she worked at?

Where is the outrage that Congressmen made false accusations of racial epithets being hurled against then by Tea Party and other protesters last week?

The MSM (and the NW Florida Daily News) is missing in action when it comes to holding this administration and Congress to the same standards they did when the Republicans were in power.

So, save your crocodile tears NW Florida Daily News and other MSM outlets, you are much too late to be making a moral judgment on this subject...

THAT is why regular Americans hold the press in so much contempt...

All I can say is, gimmee a break....

They only complain when the left is in trouble politically....

Why is the NW Florida Daily News Silent on The Ric Campo Attack Ad?

Here is a link to my post yesterday and here is a link to the open thread at the Newspaper about the editorial.  Needless to say, some out there don't appreciate my point of view, but FREE speech is a fundamental right and I will fight to the death to defend their right to say really asinine things...

Here is my latest post on the issue and why it is now an issue of integrity and fairness on the part of the NW Florida Daily News:
"The issue is not Fink or Fernald. The issue is bias in the NW Florida Daily News. If they would come clean on the Bias, then fine.. At least we know where they stand.

The Newspaper has actively promoted the Fink poll story and now they insinuate that Gaetz got the Democrat to declare (Strange, didn't she have a rally at the Quality Inn and the Democrat Minority leader was there to support her?)

However, they have turned a complete blind eye to the attack ad by Campo. NOT EVEN A TRACE OF INTEREST...

A suspicious mind might think they know who he is and who is behind the attack ad, but are hiding the information to protect their preferred candidate. I don't know, but their silence on the subject speaks VOLUMES of about Pat Rice and the NW Florida Daily News integrity.

Also, when Pat Rice moderated the Debate, he had ample opportunity to ask Gaetz about Fernald BUT DIDN'T. Instead he runs with an editorial, where no one can challenge him because he knows this is sleazy journalism and that if had the guts to ask about this issue at the debate, he would have been booed off the stage. Summary: The editorial was a SPINELESS effort of a editorial board that doesn't have the strength of their own convictions to make sleaze-ball accusations in front of the live public, where feedback is instant and forceful. No Guts, No Glory.

As for endorsing a candidate, they didn't have the integrity to do it. Almost EVERY PAPER'S EDITORIAL BOARD endorses candidates, both in primary and general elections. Another reason it's known as the "Mullet wrapper".

For anyone who endorses the concept of complete strangers doing the dirty work of a candidate, in order for the candidate to claim plausible deniability..well, you won't get any respect from me, nor should anyone, democrat or republican, give it to said person.

So the issue out there remains: Who is Ric Campo, Why did he do it and WHO was behind it. Now I add another question: What does the NW Florida Daily News know about the issue and are they hiding the truth from the people for political purposes or for the benefit of a particular candidate?

And yes, I endorsed Matt Gaetz, and will vote for him in April and August. But as a GOOD Republican, I will support whomever the party Chooses to run in the general election in November. The only caveat is that I expect my party's nominee to have had NOTHING to do with the Campo attack Ad.

Republicans and Independents: You CANNOT LET the MSM go unchallenged in their work. Best to take them head on and show them for the hypocrites they are.  They are not as tough (or popular) as they think they are...

NW Florida Daily News Puts Out an Editorial Worthy of a Junior High School Newsletter

Here is the editorial.

Here is my response:
A most unprofessional editorial. Now I have a question for the NW Florida Daily News: Who is Ric Campo and who had him run an attack ad using "The Politics of Personal Destruction"? (http://www.tnol.com/pageflipper/index.cfm?paperid=37&edition=11)

Has the NW Florida Daily News got the intestinal fortitude to go after this story or are you afraid that it may interfere with your hopeful political narrative that Gaetz loses in August?

Unless you show some gumption (and some basic curiosity) your paper is just another MSM outlet with a bias...

If ANY candidate involved the District 4 Race had ANYTHING to do with the ad, then the public should know about it and LET the PUBLIC draw their own conclusions.

So the question is: Is the NW Florida Daily News doing its constitutionally protected duty to investigate this ad, ask "who is Ric Campo?", "Why did he run this ad?" and most importantly, DOES ANY candidate have any connection to this Mr. Campo?

Unlike whoever put this Mr.Campo up to running this ad, I'll sign my Name:

ER White
(aka bloggybayou.com)
If anyone knows who is the "Mr. Ric Campo" is, drop me a line... I'll pass it on to the Director of Content for Florida Freedom newspapers, Pat Rice, and try to help him do his job.... Obviously someone has to....

We Need To Do More Than "Repeal" Obamacare, We Need a Plan To Fix Entitlements

I am all for getting rid of the Democrats in 2010, but unless we get 2/3 majority in BOTH houses in 2010, we are stuck with it unless the courts intervene. (How is that for irony: Democrats would get to yell about "Activist Judges"), or we have to wait till 2012. Then we will need a Republican majority in the House, a filibuster-proof Senate and a Republican president.

2010 is an unlikely scenario, unless the economy COMPLETELY TANKS by mid October.  Then the chances are still slim.  2012 is more likely, but Republicans MUST do more than say "Repeal It". Despite what some say, we MUST be more than the party of "No". We must be the party of ideas and they must be communicated and understood by the general population. That was Reagan's great skill.  He knew how to talk to the American people clearly and concisely but never condescendingly.  That is a rare skill, but we MUST find the Republicans who can do it. (Rep. Ryan of Wisconsin shows some potential, but he can get a bit wonkish).

The goal between now and November is, I will admit, one of straight up confrontation with Obama and the Democrats.  We must NOT allow them to "bask" in any glory and for once, the GOP needs to play hardball with the press.  THEY ARE NOT ON OUR SIDE.... We should make their obfuscation of the real costs of Obamacare an issue and we need to hammer the MSM on this issue tooth and nail.

That means taking on The NY Times, Washington Post and NBC/CBS/ABC/CNN/MSNBC.  We need to get the word out that they are much as a problem as the Democrats because they failed to tell or expose the flat out economic double tricks and impossibilities of Obamacare and the crisis of debt we face.

If that means Conservatives quit cooperating with the press, so be it.  We have a multitude of communication tools at our disposal and when we talk with the American People, we need to remind them, in no uncertain terms, that the MSM lied to protect Obama and really don't give damn about flyover country or how bad the "Debt Crisis" is.  If Conservatives continue to be "useful idiots" for the MSM in order to make money coming on their shows, then we need to boycott THEM as well.

There is nothing that says you have to cooperate with the MSM press and there is nothing against the GOP and conservatives to start up their own party news organizations.  The beauty is we are after votes, not profit.

The first rule of revolution is to control the message.  It is time for some Revolutionary EFFORTS on our part.  If you think we have to "Cooperate" with the Press to get our message out, then you never have studied on how to run and win a revolution.

There Is Too Much Anger and Not Enough Willingness To Make Tough Choices By The Tea Parties And the Republicans

Right now on Redstate they have a picture of Rep Stupak up on the site With the word "Chump" under his photo.  Eric Erickson has listed it as an open thread for conservatives to vent on.  The Social Conservatives bet the ranch on "Pro Life" Democrat and lost.

Give me a break....was there any doubt the Democrats would cave?  Obama and Pelosi bit the bullet and went all in on the Senate version of the "Nationalized Healthcare Camel Nose Under The Tent" bill and won.  Reconciliation is already dead.  (Unless the Republicans cave in on that in the Senate, which is ALWAYS a possibility).  I looked in our local paper today to see if they would run an editorial on how they would come down on today's vote...they didn't.  Typical NW Florida Daily News. Pat Rice and Company were probably for the bill, but in an effort not to destroy Rep. Allen Boyd's career over his caving in to the left-wing of his party, choose to ignore the issue.  So be it.

Want to know what our next move should be?  It will require iron will and painful honesty.  The United States of America needs to admit it is broke.  Our pockets are empty, our monetary system is in ruins and right now, our bankruptcy is being literally papered over by the massive printing of money.

The Republican Party, one way or another, along with the Tea parties need to, between now and October, to pull the plug on this charade.  This will probably mean Chrysler and GM go bankrupt and many a major financial house on Wall Street goes belly up, but we must take our medicine quickly, even if it is painful.  That would be the quickest way to a majority in Congress for the Republicans and also the quickest way to a necessary but painful overhaul in our tax system, our legal system (AKA Tort Reform) our health system, our education system and our Political System (Term Limits).

The days of allowing the unproductive citizen to leech his or her existence off the shrinking base of productive citizens must come to an end.  Tea Parties: the days of saying you don't take sides anymore ARE OVER.  Make a choice or be quiet and disappear.  Start a third party and you doom the nation for generations.

First on our agenda: we must put our financial house in order and this means Republicans and Tea Parties forcing the Government, Wall Street and Federal Reserve to have a "Come to Jesus" moment with the American Public. Our Republicans officials MUST BE BRUTAL in exposing the Financial House of Cards that has been allowed to fester in our midst.  This means breaking the back of the Federal Reserve, Treasury and Wall Street to expose the massive fraud and misuse of public funds that have occurred.  The protest should be loud, aggressive and above all, based on truth and facts (we have them on our side).  Above all, we must be honest about our debt and admit Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid ARE BROKE and MUST BE FIXED NOW.

We must be in "Take No Prisoners Mode" politically.  No more allowing Senate Republicans to "wander off the reservation".  The McCains and Grahams need to shut up about Gitmo and Immigration and Republicans should concentrate solely on a) Money issues and b) The meltdown of America's Foreign Policy, PERIOD. Leave the Abortion issue and other Social Conservative issues at the door.  We don't have the luxury of time to debate them right now and they always wind up being a circular firing squad anyway.

We must be willing to take our message to the people and we must SHAME the MSM into covering it.  If the MSM INSISTS on continuing to carry the Obama/Pelosi/Reid/Stupak Party's water, then we need to bypass them ALL TOGETHER and make their bias a legitimate political issue.  This means boycotting the Press, refusing to give interviews and starting up our own media to inform the people.  If ABC/NBC/CBS don't want to tell the American people the truth over the PUBLIC airways, then lets promise to levy TV taxes on them to help pay for the debt.  The first thing they will cut is their unprofitable News Business.

You want a Peaceful Revolution of Renewal for our Country?  Then act like our forefathers and START A REVOLUTION using the Constitution as our guide and the modern technology of the 21st Century as our tools of revolution.

And above all, quit bemoaning our fate and take action.  Like it or not, Obama and the Democrats won playing by the rules. We let them win.

We need to concentrate on changing the game and the rules.

Republicans: Take Note: Obamacare = 662 Billion dollars In Deficit Spending First Ten Years

This is the Congressional Budget Office estimate, not a partisan made up number:  Rep Ryan Explains:

Hammer it home in 2010.....We cannot afford this spending madness....

For My Tea Party Friends: In 2010, your only real Choice is the Republican Party...feel free to pressure my fellow Republicans, this time, to walk the talk. 2010 will be a "hold what you have" (First law of Damage Control in the Navy) and start the push back. 2012 will be bringing a Responsible Revolution in Federal Spending and Tax Policy.

The Palm Beach Post Fails to Mention One Small Fact

Much is being made about a sound clip of  Rep. Alcee Hastings saying that the Democrats "Make up the rules as they go along".  Here is the clip.

The Palm Beach Post's "Post on Politics" gives a more complete picture of the circumstances of the Rep. Hastings words, but totally fails to note the most salient fact that MUST be reported whenever one discusses Rep. Hastings.

When Representative Alcee Hastings was a federal judge, he was impeached by a Democratic Controlled House in 1988 (413-3) and convicted and removed by the Senate in 1989.  He was on the take, specifically, taking a $150,000 dollar bribe.

He was elected, as a Democrat, to the House in 1992 and now sits in judgment on how the House of Representatives operates.  He is as crooked as they come, yet the the Palm Beach Post "Post On Politics" Blog tries to carry this corrupt Congressman's water and tries to justify this man's actions and not once refer to this man's criminal past.

Just goes to show you...you CANNOT TRUST THE DEADWOOD PRESS, especially in Florida.  They actively provide cover for the corrupt left.  They have no shame and little or no ethics.

Do you think if they ran a story about Nixon, they would fail to mention he resigned as President?

Senator Bill Nelson: Sold His Vote and Lost his Political Soul

First, let's get real. When the House votes for the Senate Bill on Sunday, Obama will have his Healthcare bill and it will be law that day. Any talk of reconciliation is that...just talk. That means our Democratic Senator will get his "Gator-aide" kickback for a select set of seniors in Florida. Not all seniors, but seniors who he has depended on in the past to vote for him. Screw the rest of Florida Seniors on regular Medicare, he went for the seniors in "Medicare Advantage".

This is the nature of political bribery in American politics. Not outright money in the pocket of the politician, but money to help keep them in office. When it comes to drugs, political incumbency and power is more powerful than heroin. How else does one explain a near decrepit Robert Byrd still in the Senate or the spectacle of Strom Thurmond finally "retiring" when he hit his 100 YEAR OLD Birthday.

If you want to talk about vanity, the only thing more pathetic than aging movie stars slicing up/injecting their bodies to look younger than they are (and fooling no one), is fully grown men in the Senate getting Botox injections and Lord knows what else done to their face and scalp in order to get that tight plastic looking sheen to their forehead or that bright line of hair plugs on their head. Joe Biden is the poster boy.

But this is more than about Bill Nelson and his shiny forehead. This is about the corruption of one man who sold his vote to Chicago thug politicians for votes. A woman who sells her body for sex is called a prostitute. What is the correct term for a man who sold his vote for crass political gain?

The United States is rushing headlong into bankruptcy. Does ANYONE in their right mind think government run Healthcare will save our tax dollars? My God, look to Europe where they cannot afford clean hospitals and the regular horror stories coming to light every day about Britain's system. A Premier of a Canadian Provence flew to MIAMI to get his heart surgery done rather than trust the Healthcare system he has helped inflict on his own people. That's like Charlie Crist taking regular trips to California to keep his "Tan" because Florida Sunshine just doesn't get that right "bronze" color that goes best with his immaculately coiffed hair.

So what have we gained from Bill Nelson's vote for Obamacare?

a) More debt for our children
b) NASA gutted in a frantic attempt to pay for what in the end, will be the unaffordable.
c) A Senator who made no attempt to hide his shallow self-interest and desire to stay in power by selling his vote against the best interests of his constituents, his State and his Country.

So the question remains: What is the correct term for a man who sold his vote for such crass political gain?

A whore does it for free, so that term is inappropriate. I hereby suggest we officially nickname our Senior Senator from Florida as "Hooker" Bill Nelson, or just plain "Hooker" Bill for short.

So, I ask the good people of Florida: Let us retire Ole "Hooker" Bill Nelson when he tries to sell himself in the 2012 Election.

Other nickname suggestions welcome.

Allen Boyd -D FL District 2 says "No Mas" to healthcare- NOW A YES VOTE

Allen Boyd rolls over for Obama...Goes from "No" to "Yes".... So much for Blue Dog label.

For my Tea Party Friends: Admit it, there IS a difference between the Democrats and the NEW Republican Party...

Amercia, We Can Do Better

H/T The Corner

This Time, We Are The "Good Guys"

To the average American, the argument of using the issue of "States Rights" to trump Federal Policy has been used only twice: The Civil War and Civil Rights. (I hear the howling of constitutional lawyers across the land disagreeing with that statement, but we are talking the perceptions of John and Jane Doe, not policy wonks)

For most Americans, the Civil War was the first time "State's Rights" was used. Yes, I know all the other reasons Civil War buffs will throw at me as to why the South seceded from the union ("War of Northern Aggression", etc.,) but at the end of the day, using the our hindsight on history, the war was fought over the issue of whether or not the in United States a man had the right to call another man property and the "property" had to call the man "Master". No matter how you look at the Civil War, even when near the end, when the South was considering "freeing the Slaves", the war was fought, in the end, over slavery. Despite what some cranks might say, this was an abomination and perversion of what the United States was essentially meant to be, a nation of men and women where for the first time, individual rights were enshrined and protected from the government. The sin of slavery was paid for in American blood and to this day, the Civil War still is the most deadliest of all our wars.

It fundamentally changed our country and produced a man who, despite all his failings and mistakes, rightfully occupies a place as one of the truly "Great Men" in all of human history. If Judgment Day were to happen tomorrow and every civilization that ever existed were ask to be judged by their finest leader, I strongly suspect we would win with Abraham Lincoln, for here was a simple, ordinary man who overcame his own failings and mistakes and became something extraordinary.

And he was a Republican!

The second time "State's Rights" were invoked was the Post World War II political "Civil War" over "Separate but Equal", an euphemism for apartheid. Once again the Sin of Slavery was forcing Americans to come to blows, both physical and political. And once again, the argument of "State's Rights" was used to defend the indefensible. The image of the Democratic Governor of Alabama standing in front of his state's greatest institution of learning and using the Constitution to justify segregation is burned into our national consciousness. Rosa Parks, Selma and the Lorraine Motel have entered our national lexicon. Also emblazoned in our national soul were the words "I have a Dream" and the man who spoke them who appealed to our better side.

And make no mistake, the vast majority of the men who used "State's Rights" to enforce America's apartheid were Democrats. And while many credit Lyndon Johnson with his passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the main opposition to the act came from the Democrats. Here is link to the vote. Like it or not, it was the Republican Party that made the difference in that historic vote.

Also make no mistake that Lyndon Johnson's attempt to emulate FDR with his series of bills that encompassed his vision of "A Great Society" was a disastrous vast intrusion on the economic and social fabric of our country. Instead a lifting of the poor to a higher plateau, it instead left behind a devastated urban landscape and it completely broke the back of the African-American family, creating a system where single mothers on state aid are the norm and a several generations of males have grown up without honorable male role models. Want to know when the current Thug culture started? It started in 1964.

It was also the Democrats who gave us Vietnam and spurred the radicalization of the American left. The Weather Underground, the Black Panthers, the Symbionese Liberation Army were just the tip of the radical leftward lurch by a segment of our population and over time they have found a home in the Democratic Party and our nations college campuses.

Allen Boyd -D FL District 2 says "Yes" to "Deem and Pass" and is "Undecided" on Obamacare

Allen Boyd is playing games with us.  Today he voted against a Republican motion to ban the "Slaughter Rule" and is "undecided" on how he will vote on the health care bill.

Typical Democrat...trying to have his cake and eat it to.

If you can't tell the difference between Republicans and Democrats now, then you ain't paying attention.

Pat Rice Openly Insults Concerned Citizens who Showed up At Rep Boyd's Office

Here is the link Mr. Rice's Blog post.

Here is the money Quote:
The debate also has led to bizarre activities locally. On Tuesday, 150 people showed up in front of blue dog Rep. Boyd's office to protest health care reform. The protest was organized by "Americans for Prosperity." Sounds very grassroots...except that the group is also a rabid pro-tobacco organization that believes smoking is a property right. Yes, they REALLY care about your health!
I would expect a professional Journalist to do some basic research on any "grassroots" organization before openly ridiculing them. A simple Internet search would show take you to the "Americans for Prosperity." website:

Here is the link to the National Site.

Here is a Link to their Florida Page

These people are not about Tobacco.  They are about lowering taxes, debunking the Climate Change hysteria and stopping Obamacare. (which is Why they were outside Boyd's Office.)

I don't know if the "Americans for Prosperity" that showed up at Rep Boyd's office are the same people who are associated with the two above sites because Mr.Rice fails to provide any details or names.  Just ridicule. If they are the same people that are part of this national movement, then Mr. Rice owes his readers both an explanation for his lack of journalistic professionalism and an apology to the group.  Take a look at website and you will see an organization that has a more professional and up to date website than is produced by the NW Florida Daily News.

To be fair, here is a much more professional hit piece on "Americans for Prosperity" made by a Pro-man made global warming group, "DESMOGBLOG" (Which in light of recent events and admitted falsification of data by IPCC/NASA and the whole "Climategate" scandal, need to re-evaluate their position).

So, here is the situation: Mr. Rice needs to clear up this misleading blog post now.  If the organization that showed up at Rep. Boyd's office IS part of the National "Americans for Prosperity" group, they are a serious group of activists, much in the same vein as the "Sierra Club" and Mr. Rice decided to "Cherry Pick" a comment from one of the members.

To help out Mr. Rice and do what should have been his job, here is the contact Info for the organization in Florida:

Florida Chapter of AFP
Phone: (800) 398-4061
Email: infoFL@afphq.org

It should be fairly easy for Mr. Rice to confirm that the folks he ridiculed in his blog are formally associated with this LEGITIMATE organization.  I'll info them on my email list.  If they were, Mr. Rice needs to post a formal apology for his smear.

Once again folks, the Deadwood paper continues its death spiral. We Conservatives and Republicans in Florida need a legitimate alternative to the biased Florida Deadwood MSM.

For My Tea Party Readers:  Mr. Rice's Blog post reveals how he really feels about conservative grassroot organizations.  Don't be fooled.  I'm not.

Matt Gaetz For Representative of FL District 4

BloggyBayou supports the election of Matt Gaetz for Florida District 4 Representative.  This was not an easy choice.  I willingly admit I am a political novice in many ways, and I earlier in the process openly supported Matt Gaetz.  But, after some thought and some advice from trusted friends, I thought it best to withdraw that endorsement and wait till before the week of the election in order to give the other candidates a fair chance to make their case.  I apologize for my earlier rush to judgment.  As as owner, editor, copy boy, janitor of this (very minor) political website, I should have waited.  Lesson learned.

In a perfect world, the best solution to the Ray Sansom debacle would have been all the Republicans who were running for the district 4 seat to support Jerry Melvin to run unopposed in the early election and allow Mr. Melvin to finish Mr. Sansom's term, with the caveat that he not seek to run again in November.  This way we would have had a man who already knew the job to represent us with honor till the November election and also provide one of Okaloosa's premier citizens one last "Hurrah!!" and thank you in the political world. The other candidates would then have more time to make their cases to the people of the 4th District and not have to waste precious political funds running for the same seat twice in a year. Alas, it was not to be and I only had the idea after watching the debate last Sunday.  C'est la vie.

I endorse Matt Gaetz because, all things being equal, he ran the better campaign and has the most potential. While some scoff at "endorsements", I note that all politicians have literature loudly proclaiming who has endorsed them. So, it must matter, n'est pas?  Some even had  pictures of themselves with prominent politicians who had endorsed one of their opponents. I know all is fair in love and war and while most people don't take interest in the "Nitty Gritty" details of politics, I get a kick out of it and I notice such things.

The Sunday debate clarified things for me.  Talk of security clearances as a Badge of Honor did not impress me.  Here is the dirty little secret about getting a Top Secret Clearance: SPILL YOUR GUTS about every wrong turn and run in with the law or vice you have ever had when you first apply for it. HOLD NOTHING BACK.  Where people screw up is trying to hide stupid stuff they did as young adults. If Uncle Sam only gave Top Secret/SBI clearances with access to compartmented information to Saints, then 99% of our folks in intelligence agencies would have to resign. Nobody in Congress would qualify.

If you ever speak to my sisters, they will gladly tell you tales of my misspent youth. If you don't want to bother my Sisters, then buy me a couple beers and I will tell you. What saved me was a) Being raised in a Republican Family; b) Voting for Carter (While in a pot induced haze) and then having to live through the Carter Years (My Eldest Sister voted for Ford and she never forgets to remind me she is the better Republican in the family);  c) Sobering up and Voting for Ronald Reagan and d) Joining the US Navy to give me purpose and discipline in life. And yeah, I told Uncle Sam EVERYTHING.  This is America and we always give the repentant sinner a second chance (except for John Edwards)

I wish the other candidates well and no hard feelings.  One of the candidates, in my opinion, would be better suited in an executive position such as County Commissioner or School Superintendent.  Most self made men are.

But, in the whirlwind arena of Tallahassee Politics, I think of Matt Gaetz as an investment in the future of NW Florida.  He knows, all too well, how fleeting and precarious political power is and I hope all our legislature members have learned the lesson that the fall of Ray Sansom has painfully taught us.

PS: For Senator Gaetz: For the record: You are still wrong to have supported the fast rail.  Listen to your Son on this one.

Todays Debate for District 4 Representative For the Florida House

Bloggybayou will be endorsing formally a candidate later on this week.  However, today's debate deserved recognition.  First, give credit where credit is due, the NW Florida Daily News did a good job of having a set of rules and legitimate questions ready to go.  It was well organized and went on without a hitch.  I was one of the people who voted for a bathroom timeout (I slammed 2 Diet Mt. Dews just before the debate) and while I was in the minority, the technological demands of the camera recorder allowed for me to take a MUCH needed break.... My lucky day.....

Second, all the candidates did a good job of making their case.  Best haircut award goes to Jerry Melvin. He looked sharp and I pray to the Gods that when I hit 65, I can be as agile of mind, spirit and body as he is at 80.  The man is incredible. Once again, all 5 men  (in alphabetical order): Craig Barker; Matt Gaetz; Bill Garvie; Jerry Melvin and Kabe Woods stood there and not one was at lost for words when presented with a question. I didn't necessarily agree with some of their stands, but I admire their willingness to stand in the arena.  Well done gentlemen.

Finally, I want to congratulate the audience.  It was packed.  It is evident that the Conservative Republican base has aroused from it's four year hiatus and is once more beginning to reassert itself.  Some credit goes to the influx of  Tea Parties but the vast majority of those people who came and packed the house were your everyday, mom and pop Republican voters.  If attendance is any indicator of Republican turnout nationwide in November, then I smell Revolution in the air.  A polite, mannerly Revolution, but a Revolution none the less.

A word of warning however to all Republican Candidates that are going to benefit from this energized base.  Don't blow it with politics as usual. You are going to get at most, two bites of the apple this time. 2010 will be a holding pattern to stop the most egregious of Obama's efforts, both at a state and national level.  2012 had better be a drastic change on how our Government serves it citizens.  Blow it again and a third party will spring from Republican ashes.

But today, let us celebrate the American political system that allows civilized debate between political foes.  Look at our world and realize how rare a privilege that this is.  Then thank our founding fathers who truly devised a way of life and government that made  debates like this possible.

The Case for Marco Rubio For Senator

Adam Smith is one of Florida's premier "political" reporters. Here is link to his bio. A native of New York and educated in Ohio, he has managed to impress enough people (according to his own bio) to be named the best political writer in Florida by washingtonpost.com and one of the country's top 10 political reporters by Columbia Journalism Review. Heady stuff indeed...If you are impressed by liberal elites. Unfortunately, yours truly is not.

I now direct your attention to this article posted by Mr. Smith. He describes, without any attempt at hiding his own glee as he spins the story negatively, how a young man, of relatively humble means, made his way to the top of the Florida legislature in record time. A 100 years ago this would be the stuff of legend and admiration. Marco Rubio played the game of politics, according to the rules set by both Democrats and Republicans and against formidable odds, beat them. He didn't make the rules, he just studied them and used them to advance his political career. Is Marco Rubio ambitious? Yes. Is Marco Rubio smart? Oh, hell yes.

Politicians, by nature, are aggressive "Type A" personalities. They also have to be thick skinned and politically shrewd. As the old saying goes, "Politics ain't beanbag". So I am neither upset nor particularly worried about Mr. Smith's article.

Why? Because I DO NOT accept the fact that the press in the vast majority of America Main Stream Media, especially newspaper reporters, are a) unbiased; b) professional and c) particularly intelligent.

Just read the above article by Mr. Smith. If you wanted to publish a book on the Press, this article would be a textbook example of the "hit piece". No attempt was made by the author to hide his own contempt for Rubio, and the whole tenor of the article was that Rubio was using party funds to essentially let him live the lifestyle of the rich and famous. He even pulls out specific meal charges to try to smear Rubio, quoting two examples: "$14.24 bill at Andrew's Capital Grill & Bar, to $184.15 at Masa, an upscale "Asian-fusion'' restaurant." No attempt was made to put these charges in context. Was Mr. Rubio attending to party business when he charged a modest 15 bucks for lunch? Was he talking to donors and by investing 200 bucks at a restaurant, got a $10,000 dollar donation?  If so, I'd say the RPOF made a damn good investment.

Read the article. What you will find is that Marco Rubio, at the end of the day, is a man of modest income and like the rest of us, is making his mortgage payments on time. And most importantly, he didn't, like a lot of politicians, (listening Charlie Rangel?) get rich while he was in office.

Finally, before I move on, Mr Smith drags Mr. Rubio's wife into it. He could have said simply stated his wife acted as Rubio's treasurer, but no, he had to add the snarky comment the she was a "former Miami Dolphins cheerleader". A subtle, yet deftly handled rapier cut to Mrs. Rubio, using the stereotype of pro-cheerleaders not being known for their intellectual acumen. A truly despicable jibe by Mr. Smith and uncalled for.

In the final analysis, once you finish Mr. Smith's article, the impression is not one that Mr. Rubio is a spendthrift, but it is one that Mr. Smith has decided to use his constitutionally protected position to perform a piece of political hackery and leaves no doubt that he is out to get Marco Rubio, just like Dan Rather was out to get George Bush. So much for the impartial "Press".

Mr. Rubio's biggest sin, in the media's eyes, is that a year ago he launched a long shot campaign for Senator against a classic mushy middle Republican that could be counted on to cave to the Democrats on conservative issues. What Speaker Rubio saw, (not a lot of People give him credit for this), was that Obamamania would soon come crashing down and soon it would dawn on the people the hard cold reality that President Obama and the Democrats were about to embark on a path that could not restore our financial house in order and in fact, will prove to be eventually a financial disaster of Biblical proportions. ANYONE who thinks we are on the road "economic recovery" either was not politically aware in the 1970's or has a almost cult like reverence for Obama and his policies.

Charlie Crist did not have the foresight to see this and stood on the stage with Obama to openly embrace one of the most wasteful and irresponsible political acts of our nation's history, the infamous near trillion dollar Stimulus package of 2009. With one stroke of his pen, President Obama allowed the Democratically controlled Congress to fund all the Pork-barrel and Utopian "Haight-Ashbury" projects ever conceived. While I personally am upset over this wasting of my hard earned tax-dollars, I am furious that my son and then his children will eventually be the ones who will have to work to pay off this damnable piece of political narcissism. I saw this for what it was a year ago, and guess what, so did Marco Rubio....

Charlie Crist failed to see the Stimulus package for what it was. He was blinded by the Pork, a life ring to shore up his popularity while, after a failed vice-presidential bid, he went for the next big thing, Senator. As a sitting first-term Governor, it was an act of incredible arrogance and showed an absolute contempt for the voter who expected him to be an honest steward of the State. Instead, Charlie Crist got caught up in Obamamania, made a Faustian bargain and now it is time to pay the piper. With this one act alone, Charlie Crist betrayed what the Grassroots of the Republican party are DEMANDING: A return to small government and less intrusion into our lives. Is Charlie Crist ambitious? Yes. Is Charlie Crist smart? Oh, hell no.

For OCREC Consumption

Pat Rice is blogging about the GOP senate race.

I left this entry:

Mr. Rice:

I don't think it was against RPOF rules to put personal expenses on the RPOF AMEX Credit card, at least according to the "The Politifact"... A grey area at best, but that is in keeping with how company and Government cards work also...

For example: I HAVE to use my company issued credit card to book business travel (flights/cars) and it is automatically paid for by my company. All other charges are mine and I submit a travel voucher to recoup out of pocket expenses (parking fees, gas for the car, Per diem, etc)

As for some of the charges like Computer supplies etc that Rubio charged, I can totally see how that is a party expense.

Likewise, if he is having people over to his house to raise money, etc.. It is a valid reason to charge groceries. It is all about spending Money to raise Money. Greer, however, took it to a whole different level and hence the backlash by grassroots GOP (I know it may surprise you, but we Republicans are, for the most part, a honest lot)

I would also like to point out for the record, it was the LOCAL Republicans (including our local Party in Okaloosa) who demanded that Greer go and a forensic audit take place of RPOF funds. I assure you, once said audit is done, there is a least one Republican in Okaloosa county that will demand that the results of the audit be presented to all Florida County Chairmen and Chairwomen.

I challenge you to ask the Democratic party of Florida to also submit their books to a third party Forensic audit.

By the Way, here is a shameless plug for my Blog:

Standby For Heavy Rolls

Charlie Crist is fighting for his political life, is trying every trick in the book and would drain the life blood out of the RPOF to win.

BloggyBayou will try to convince you this weekend that it is time to put a stake through the political heart of Charlie Crist and why it is IMPORTANT to the Nation and the National GOP for the Florida Republican primary voter to be the "Van Helsing" to Crist's "Dracula" (albeit a well Tanned Dracula, which raises the question, would sticking Dracula in a Tanning Booth be fatal to said Vampire?  Feel free to post yes or no to this question... But I digress...)

This weekend: Why Charlie Crist needs to go for the good of our nation.

Best Wishes to The Family of Senator Reid

Senator Harry Reid's wife and daughter have been involved in a serious car accident in DC.  Right now the word is they are badly hurt but not in danger of dying.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and prayers to the Reid family during this difficult time.

Earmark Reform from the Congressional Republicans

Some were interested if Jeff Miller was involved in the Possible moratorium on Earmarks. Here is the Document asking Mike Pence to hold a caucus on the issue dated 23 Feb 2010. Jeff Miller is a signatory on the request.

If you hear about the results of the Republican efforts, let me know and I'll do the same if I hear of action on this.

My two Cents: It is a good step if taken, but I would like the practice banned permanently. Unfortunately, You have to be in the Majority to totally ban it, but Republicans can take a stand and stop making them and shame the Dems into doing the same.

We will see.

UPDATE: THE REPUBLICANS ADOPT A YEARLONG EARMARK BAN

It's a start.  Lets give the GOP credit where credit is due....

Thanks to Congressman Miller's office for the prompt response to my query.

Representative Jeff Flake's Proposal to Ban Earmarks in Congress

Here is a Link to the Story: (Hat tip, Henry Kelly of the Fort Walton Beach Tea Party) (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0310/34071.html)

I heard from Congressman Miller's office (FYI Congressman Miller is my U.S. Congressional Representative, District 1-FL) and Congressman Miller is supporting (indeed a CO-SIGNER) of Rep. Flake's proposal to the Republican Caucus regarding earmarks. Importantly, John Boehner has also been a critic of earmarks. Now is the time to tell your Congressman to sign on to the plan. If Republicans are serious about budget reform, this is a big step. So if you congressman is Republican, ask him where he stands on the Flake proposal.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!:
House GOP to Meet Thursday on Earmark Ban

March 10, 2010, 10:18 a.m.
By Jackie Kucinich
Roll Call Staff
________________________________________
House Republicans will convene a special conference meeting Thursday at 3 p.m. to determine whether they will implement a yearlong moratorium on earmarks.

Minority Leader John Boehner (Ohio) announced the session during a closed-door meeting of the House Republican Conference on Wednesday morning, according to GOP sources.

“We’re going to have to make a decision,” the sources quoted Boehner as saying. “Are we really willing to put it all on the line to win this thing?”

Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), who began circulating a letter last week to try to force the Conference to meet to consider the earmark moratorium, said the special conference was leadership’s decision. The GOP move comes as Democratic leaders are considering a similar earmark ban.
Call Your Congressman and tell him/her to Support the Flake Proposal....

YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP!!!!!!

Here, Nancy Pelosi says:
"But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy."
And here, Eric "The Tickler" Massa (Sounds like a villain from the Batman Show in the 60's) makes a complete fool of himself.

Yeah, I know we lost a no vote on with this guy leaving, but we really can't have a male Congressman going around tickling grown men...somethings are best left unsaid....

Just another day in D.C.  And inside the Beltway folks can't understand why us flyover people are really, really ...well..let's just say upset....

Pat Rice Opens Mouth and Shows how Intellectually Challenged our Local Paper (that's not really local) is

Pat Rice reads in the NY Times that Iran may get the Bomb and decides NOW is the time to take notice of the Subject...

D'oh!!!!!!!!

My response:

For Pete's sake, Pat, You've been waiting for the New York Times to tell you this?

I called it almost a year ago...

http://www.bloggybayou.com/2009/06/ya-say-you-want-revolution.html

If you wait for the NY Times to pontificate on subjects before you get concerned... Well, I suggest you find another line of work.... The NY Times is always a day late and a dollar short when reporting on the dangers in Iran. They would rather bash Bush, the US Military or Israel than admit we got a major problem on our hands with the Islamic Fascists in Iran and elsewhere. For the love of Mudd, Man, get a grip and start doing some research on your own....

A little advice, talk to the professionals on Israel's ability to strike. Iran is too far away for any meaningful IAF (Israeli Air Force) campaigns and the only power that is capable of a "sustained" military attack on the sites is the Good Ole USA.

Check out http://www.bloggybayou.com/. I've been following the Green movement in Iran since last year. I also suggest you go to http://pajamasmedia.com/ and search on Dr. Michael Ledeen. He has a lot of contacts in the Middle East and is the resident Iranian Expert there, but he and I differ on whether the Greens can win peacefully...I doubt it, hence my 9MM solution. Don't laugh, a lot smarter people than you have said it would probably work, but Obama doesn't have the stomach to do it...

Search on Iran or Iran Nukes on my site...You might learn something...

Cheers

"Brutal Numbers for Crist" coming out on Tuesday, 9 March

Here is a link to the report.

What is says is that the Republican Party, across a WIDE spectrum of ideology, From Conservative to Moderate to Libertarian want him GONE.

If he is more concerned over his personal advancement over the RPOF's choice, then this may prompt him sooner, rather than later, go the Independent route.

My fellow GOP members: If Crist does go out on his own, then we should completely dedicate electing Marco Rubio.  Crist will have used our funds and our votes for him in the past for his own personal gain, rather than working for the best interests of Florida.

MY advice to Crist: Drop out of the Senate Race; Support Rubio and retire from Public office with some dignity intact.

On Evil

I was going to write about healthcare, but I decided today to re-listen to some of my radio broadcasts from WWII while working out and changed my mind. I don't know why I picked to listen to broadcasts of 1945, particularly to the ones that dealt with the final Allied onslaught of the Crumbling Third Reich, I just did.

Just as the Allies were closing in on the Nazi's, FDR died in Warm Springs and American and British troops were stumbling across and discovering the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps. There, laid bare for all the world, was the monstrous culmination of a once great civilization gone mad.

I listened to the broadcasts of the news organizations, attempting to explain the horrors of the Nazi death camps to a public caught up in a flurry of emotions; all at once excited about the impending defeat of the German enemy; stunned at the death of their President (the public was for the most part, kept in the dark about the FDR's health); acknowledgement of the war in the East still to be won and then to be confronted by this....

Here is Columbia Correspondent Edward R. Murrow's account of his entering of Buchenwald.

Here is a short excerpt of the BBC's Richard Dimbleby Entering Belsen.

And here is Mutual Broadcasting's Sigrid Schultz entering Ravensbruck.

The Murrow recording is the longest. It is a bit scratchy, but it conveys both the professionalism of the reporter, along with the gut wrenching mixture of horror and agony to have to endure such a site.

Americans were soon to see the newsreels of the concentration camps, and the visual imagery conveyed in the theaters would overwhelm the first reports of these horrors by radio. But they are worth listening to. They are the reactions of harden correspondents, used to seeing the dead and dying. They convey what something the imagery lacks, the shock, the stench, and the attempts of normal human beings trying to describe the results of the unimaginable descent of a once great society into utter and complete depravity.

There are still a rapidly dwindling number of survivors of these camps: victims, liberators and yes, perpetrators. They are a reminder to us that once, truly evil men held sway in our world. They should also remind us that evil will always be a component of our world, because it is part of man's makeup.

It should remind us first to teach our children that the horrors of Hitler were a result of men not standing up to him until it was almost too late. It should remind us adults, that evil still struts across this world, strapping bomb vests on foolish young men and sending them to kill on false promises of paradise or using the mentally handicapped to do the same. They are the same ones who tell us that the Holocaust never happened or that 9/11 was somehow our fault or that there is somehow a moral equivalence in the world and we are not fit to judge others because we are not part of that culture.

It is a world where women are treated like chattel and we dare not damn it for the affront it truly is, because we have foolishly jettisoned our independence for their energy resources, because a small minority of shallow minds in our country refuse to let us use our own resources for our own good.

Listen to the hate preached in the mosques of the world, and tell me there is no cause for alarm. Listen to the ravings of a man who denies the Holocaust, while the country he leads races for nuclear arms that will give him and his cohorts more raw, physical force than The Third Reich ever held at its zenith.

I intend to listen to these recordings together tonight with my son. And then we will talk of men and war, and of good and evil.

Bio-fuels Executive compares "Tea Party" to "Fleas on a Dog"

I was working out on the indoor air bicycle and was watching the Fox News Program "Cashin'in", when the subject of the "Tea Parties" came up with regards to the upcoming Healthcare debate.  There was an Executive who runs a bio-fuels company and was very Pro-Obama on the panel.  He bragged about the tax breaks and money he had gotten from the recent stimulus (aka "Porkulus") bill.

He brushed off the impact of "Tea Parties" and compared them literally to "Fleas on a Dog".   I didn't catch the guys name, but as soon as the program puts it transcripts on-line, I'll update the post...

Our Local Paper (Which isn't Local) Takes Advantage of a Self-Inflicted Republican Mistake

It is impossible to defend the actions of your chosen Party (in my case the GOP) when they take careful aim and then shoot themselves in the foot.  Example a) A link from a Non-GOP Friend.

Yep, what a dumb ass mistake and I thought by now they would have learned their lesson.  Ronald Reagan knew that if you wanted to lead a revolution with the American People, you had to do it with a promise of better things to come and he always did it with a smile.

Reagan knew that to truly get the American people behind a movement, you first did it with ideas and by appealing to the better nature of all men and women.

However, while some people I'll take criticism from, there are some I will not tolerate because of their shameless bias to the left, while claiming to be a bastion of "Independent Journalism"  working on behalf of NW Florida.

I refer specifically to the misnamed "NW Florida Daily News" that pulled up stakes from their office in Fort Walton Beach (Republican District 1), moved hat in hand to Democratic Bay County (District 2) and still claim to be our "Hometown" newspaper. (They are still reorganizing themselves and are still in a lengthy bankruptcy.)

And I refer even more specifically to their Director of Regional Content, Pat Rice, who takes the ball handed to him by the Democrats and runs with it for all he is worth (Here is the link)

Here is My Answer:
Mr Rice:

Do you think it is a bit hypocritical to pose as an "advocate" for NW Florida while your paper abandoned NW Florida (District 1) for Panama City?

The sheer Chutzpah of claiming to be concerned for us, while residing in Democratic Bay County and doing "remote" journalism does strike me as, well, somewhat deceitful.

As for the "Brief", yes it was shameful and wrong and disavowed. However, If you want a long litany of Democratic dirty tricks and shameful behavior, including real Anti-Semitic writings from major Democratic advocate groups, I'll also be happy to round some up... Starting with Obama's minister and his good friend Louis Farrahkan. I think this trend in the Left needs to be exposed...How about it, why not try some real journalism for a change and investigate vice being spoon fed stories by the Democrats and regurgitating them back up on the paper.

Anti-Semitism is on the rise around the world and in the US, it has found its home in the Democratic left. I challenge you to do an exposé on this issue. It is an important one and needs to be reported on.

As for the brief, would you not think, in your position of "Director of Content" , the newly released CBO analysis of the Democratic Spending that projects much higher deficits than Obama has been claiming is a much greater news story and has more of a direct impact on the American People? Why not Blog on that instead of relying on, once again, a spoon fed story from the Democrats.

And do you, in your position as "Director of Content" and author of opinion pieces in the deadwood press, support the reconciliation move made by Obama? If so why? If not, Why not?

How about your opinion on a Blue Dog like Allen Boyd? I would say a Blue Dog Democrat who votes against the Obama's Healthcare bill has just as much blood on his hands as a Democrat who votes yes. Just by being a Democrat, they have enabled the Loony left to control Congress and use it to strip us of our hard earned dollars as well as intruding into our most private medical decisions.

Do you agree with that? If not Why not?. It is not like I am telling you to "Shut-up", I truly want your opinions. If the Press is ever to regain its trust with the American people, they need to come clean on how their own bias is incorporated in their news reports. In Great Britain, where there is a much more "vibrant" deadwood press, they are honest about how their worldview colors their news. "The Guardian" is proudly left wing, while "The Daily Telegraph" is proudly Tory. What not the same admission from your Paper which is "Unabashedly in the Tank for the Democrats and out to Skin the Republicans".

And Saying the New York Times is the Gold Standard doesn't impress the truly informed person... Who knows better!

Deadwood papers in the U.S...A dying breed... and their demise made possible by technology and self inflicted biases.

Cheers

Time for The GOP Grassroots and Tea Parties to Act TOGETHER NOW!

I got this Email from the RNC. They are asking for money to "Fight Obamacare". RNC: I got news for you: first organize a strategy to defeat Obamacare and then lead it vice sticking your hand out for cash at the earliest opportunity.  Same goes for the NRSC who still refuses to drop its endorsement of Crist in the Florida Republican Primary.

Hugh Hewitt has made an interesting proposal.  In effect, he is asking the American people to actively participate in the upcoming Senate debate by letting a "Million Amendments Bloom".  He is asking that the RNC and NRSC set up a site to help Mr. and Mrs. America to craft appropriate, properly conceived amendments to be voted on by an up or down Roll Call vote in the Senate.  I can think of a bunch: Term Limits; A requirement for a balanced budget ; One of my favorites: Making it mandatory that any member of the State Department that wants to advance beyond the GS-12 level first have 10 years of Military Service and have successfully been selected for promotion to O-4.

I am sure my Tea Party friends can come up with a lot more. However, I am not a parliamentary expert on US Senate Rules.  Is this "Blizzard of Amendments" parliamentary legal under current Senate rules?  I don't know, but I am sending this post to our RPOF party leader and Vice-Chairman and they should have the resources to answer this question.

IF THIS IS POSSIBLE, WE SHOULD MAKE IT HAPPEN. Obama and his Chicago Thug co-horts are playing for keeps.  Then let us prove to an over ambitious President and Democrat party that the American People can play "Hardball" too.

Think of the ways we could make the left squirm: On Gun Control issues alone we could drive them mad.  How about mandatory Drug testing of all Welfare recipients?  Our Military have to do it, why not those living on the largess of our taxes?  Fail the test and revoke the dole.

How about making it firing offense for a Senator or Congressman to have an affair or commit adultery?  Once again, they are enforcing this rule on our Military, so why not Congress?

Here's one: Lets propose that we build with stimulus dollars a large Dorm for all Congressmen and Senators in DC and require that while Congress is in session they have to live there.  Let them have basic cable and communal bathrooms.  It is still more comfortable than what our men and women on duty in the Middle East endure.  The hallways would have 24 hour live cam feeds just so we can make sure Our Congressman and Senator are safe under the watchful eye of the American Citizen.  We could also make it a rule they have to sign in any visitors and no overnight conjugal visits allowed.

The possibilities boggle the imagination.  The Goal is, of course, to make it IMPOSSIBLE for the Senate to do business and stop Obamacare in its tracks. It will be the American People SHUTTING THE SYSTEM DOWN.  What better way to tell the political elite we are tired of them and their games?

Obama made no bones about it.  Use of the "Nuclear Option", (after first denying he would ever use it,) is now on track to take over one of our most private of relationships: the one between Doctor and patient.

IF THIS ROUTE IS POSSIBLE, we should be prepared to use it.

I also bet the American People can come up with some real solutions to our current problems.  We are Americans, the most imaginative and practical people on earth.

So RNC and NRSC: Instead of asking for Money, how about asking for ideas?  How about taking the lead on this?

For my leadership in the RPOF: Use your contacts and your expertise to help make this happen.

I'm up for shutting the United States Senate down, are you?  How about you, My Tea Party friends?  If you are up to it, spread the word.

Message To The Tea Parties

Obama and company are to introduce a "Smaller" version of the health bill that Obama proposed at last weeks Health Summit.  I'd say the actual cost will be, at a minimum, double than what Obama says it will cost. (Remember last time, they raised taxes the first four years of the bill before ANY funds were dispersed. An "Accounting trick from Hell" if you ask me).

Well, For all the faults of the GOP for the past ten years, you have to give them some credit now. I fully expect the vast majority, if not all, of the Republicans in Congress will vote against this bill.

I've heard that there is no difference in parties, and with regards to spending in the past, you might be right.  But Republicans have spent now 4 years in the political wilderness and, hopefully, they have regained some fiscal sanity.  Yes, I know TARP was Bush's monstrosity, but that is water under the bridge (a lot of "water" I admit)

But now the battle over Healthcare is coming to a head.  The GOP is not your enemy in this fight.  The enemy is any Democrat who has supported Speaker Pelosi and Leader Reid, and all these Democrats, have just by their mere presence enabled the Democrats to have a majority power in BOTH Houses and has made this national gutting of the best health care system in the world more than possible.

In other words, A Blue Dog Democrat who votes against the Healthcare bill has just as much blood on his hands as a Democrat who votes yes.  Just by being a Democrat, they have enabled the Loony left to control Congress and use it to strip you of your hard earned dollars as well as intruding into your most private medical decisions.

Make no mistake.  If Obama and the Democrats have their way, there will be a bureaucrat who will one day, decide if your life is worth the medical effort.  This is a fact in every country who turns to the government to provide your healthcare.

I read where Tea Parties will not endorse a candidate based on Party label, but on principles.  The problem is, however, The Democratic PARTY is in control Of BOTH Houses and the White House.

So when a Blue Dog like Allen Boyd of Florida comes calling for your vote and says "I voted against the Healthcare Bill, so I still deserve your vote".  What is going to be your answer?

You see, like it or not, Political Parties STILL matter and sooner or later, you have to make a choice.

Choose wisely....
